I am obviously having a horrible case of cycling through by Bipolar again. It's going so fast I can't quite keep a good hold on it, which is frustrating because it hasn't been this bad since high school. Yeah- I'm annoyed.

Kathy should like, go fall off the face of the Earth or something. Along with all of the people like her. THE WORLD WOULD BE SUCH A BETTER PLACE.
-
People also need to stop being so sensitive. I can not be snippy with you if I've spoken less than two sentences all day. Wanna complain to management to me about that? Fine. Someday I'll just be telling them about how you spend twenty minutes or more talking to people every time you take out a pallet.

New Toshiba laptop- ALL IS FORGIVEN. Okay, LJ still looks kinda weird and cropping is as weird as I thought it'd be, but HOLY CRAP you're so much speedier than my old laptop! Downloading Photoshop always took at least four hours, but with you I had it in twenty minutes! (loves on)
-
I picked up Brook from One Piece at a RP here on LJ. I had to drop Agent Bishop at the TT one due to stress and time issues, but this one has a bit of a slower pace. I'm having so much fun, though. I can tell I need to work on him some, though. I don't think I'm doing too horribly though (I hope...?), so there's at least that. :D

I miss my mother. And even my stepdad, sometimes. I'm afraid of talking to most other people. I've been thinking about moving back with them for a few months- I could transfer to another Walmart and save up some money. Without bills, I'd be able to help them out some too.
Not going to happen until at least January though (I'm sticking around for the bonus check at my Walmart, kthnx). We'll see if I'm still up for it by then.

One of my icons won first place at this week's
op_ic icontest! I was so surprised! I've gotten several of the Mod's Choice awards, and last time I got a third place, but never a first! On top of that, one of my other icons won for the Special Category (Best Crop), so I am pleased. ^_^
-
Because of the events of last year where the Walmart worked got trampled to death on Black Friday, Walmart will be open all day on Thanksgiving now. So we don't get half days off now.
Sometimes customers disgust me. In addition to the absolute horror of how selfish some of those people acted at that store when the poor guy died, now they get rewarded with having more time to shop. On top of that, we have to work with them longer while they're at their worst. WTF.

Watched Ice Age 3 finally. Ah, I loved the first one. None of the sequels have been on the same level, but at least they're still entertaining. As for this one- BUCK. He made the movie, I swear.
Manny: Just when exactly did you lose your mind?
Buck: About three months ago. I woke up married to a pineapple. An ugly pineapple. *sighs happily* But I loved her so...

I locked myself out of my house today. After having no luck picking the lock, I remembered that one of the windows was open and decided to try and open it. Unfortunately, as I was pushing up against it, I stumbled and ended up breaking the glass and cutting myself open while I was at it. It's very annoying to have your hands covered in blood and no way to wash them off for an hour. Besides how much colder they get in this weather, it's worse when you're trying very hard not to get blood all over your neighbor's door.
I cleaned it as best as I could though, and I have some nice thick bandaids. It was only a tiny cut, just deep and fairly wide. If I don't keep the bandaids on, whenever I go to grab something it splits right back open and that is getting really annoying really fast. If it doesn't stop doing that by tomorrow I'm just going to superglue it.
Also, the broken window sucks and will probably cost more than a locksmith would have (fifty bucks). I AM BROKE. I have to call the landlord tomorrow, but I'm hoping he'll let me wait until I get paid next to do it.
Since everyone kept yelling about how awful HP is, I picked up a Toshiba. I like it for the most part- it is running nicely, and I can view things properly again. But with every new computer comes the part I hate- customizing the screen to look just how I want it to. Because every computer just has to be so damn different, yet they always seem to come with default settings designed to piss me off. >.<
I've fixed most of it by now, but there's just one part I can't seem to figure out. And I'm not sure whether it lies with Toshiba or just Windows 7. But the screen resolution? Yeah. It sucks. No matter what changes I make to it, everything I view looks a little squished. I've trained myself to cope with it, but there's one site that it's so much more glaringly obvious in that I can't. This site would of course be livejournal. Or more specifically- the icons on livejournal.
Remember what I said about squished? This is exactly what happens to a 100x100 pixel icon. Instead of looking like a square, it's rectangular. Not drastically so, but it's obvious it's a littler taller than it is wide. As an iconmaker, I find this nightmarish. This messes with the whole damn presentation in my eyes- and while it may come out the right size to anyone else who sees it on the Internet, it effects the way I make it. Cropping is also going to take a lot of guesswork now.
So does anyone know how to fix this? I've changed about every display option I've seen, and I'm barely making an impact. At this rate I'm wondering if I should've just sent the other laptop to be fixed after all (say what you will about HP, so far that one was my favorite). I could've borrowed the old one back from my parents in the mean time.
Eh. Maybe I'll do that when I have the money to afford it. And it can't hurt having a spare, can it?
Anyways, must get ready for work. Youtube Friday, guys! You know those silly iPod commercials? Well here's one that doesn't suck. Shocking, yes?
I'm going to echo everyone who reads the Naruto manga and wonder what the hell Kishimoto is thinking. Or what drug he's taking. The things he's doing to his characters right now is awful- I've seen fanfic writers nail these characters better than he is. I'm still reading simply because I like to see stories to their ends, and I've always loved the secondary characters and want to see what happens to them. Though right about now I'll admit to being increasingly worried about how he'll ruin them too, or just plain ignore them. He's already thrown Hinata under a bus, after all. This whole thing with Sakura makes that blow about ten times worse, by the way.
At least one manga remains awesome. As per usual, One Piece leaves me running around like my head got chopped off because of how great it is. :D
But why does Oda have to be so good at mean cliffhangers ;_;. Now that I've significantly calmed down and considered that panel... I wanna guess it's Doflamingo. And really hope we finally figure out what his Devil Fruit ability is.
Anyways, Youtube Friday. The video that I wanted to use got removed from Youtube! I'm so sad. It was a really funny one, too.
So I had to rush through all the videos I've watched this last week for something suitable to share. There's only been like one that really stands out in my memory though, so here it is. Enjoy!
I think someone needs to teach our new manager how to effectively schedule people. >.<
This week is going to be the first really good example of it, and maybe it'll motivate him some. Kathy has been put on a leave of absence, much to my absolute glee. I could dance! Yay!
However... Jackie is going to be leaving us after tomorrow. She wasn't with us for long at all, but out of that old lady group, she was probably the best worker. And may I mention one of the few besides me who works on Sunday and Monday. DAMMIT.
Next, they messed with James' schedule for the week, for some reason. So he's probably not going to be there on Sunday.
Squire is grocery two days out of the week. As you may have guessed, this is also on Sunday and Monday.
So in a nutshell, if everyone shows up for work as they're supposed to on those two days, at most we're going to have four people. Not impressed here, Mr Manager. Especially seeing as you scheduled eight people for last night and you're making me work on Tuesday, thus giving us nine people for that truck. What the hell.
Moving on to happier things- yay One Piece! Mihawk, it's been so long but you're still so awesome.
And now it's time for Youtube Friday!
I love this song. Why do so many songs fit One Piece so well? Fate, I tell you. Fate demands that people make as many awesome AMVs about it as possible, so that we may watch them. :D
Damn, am I bored. As much as I hate having to work (ASDFGHJKL; KATHY GO DIE ALREADY. Yes, she did it AGAIN. Yes, I want to kill her >.<), at least it forces me to do something.
Whereas on my days off... I don't really do anything at all. Can't really afford to do anything interesting most of the time. And even though I'm always thinking about cleaning most of the time, procrastination is sewn right into my genes, so it never happens. I haven't done the dishes in months. Yes, I'm aware of how disgusting that is.
So... yeah. Instead, I kinda just... do nothing. It's very relaxing, doing nothing, even if it leaves me feeling very unfulfilled at the end of the day.
Anyone wanna see what I did instead? >.>
I was so sure I had discussed this elsewhere, but do to the reaction seen by some who know me in
You heard me. I know have canon proof of two of my fandoms existing in one space. Hyesssss.
What really makes me laugh is that it's Leo reading it (heehee- and as he got the comic from Mike, both of them are fans XD). I know I'm not the only person who now wants to see him trying to use Santoryuu. XD
Anyways. Seeing that issue brought up again reminded me that I was going to icon it. But dammit, it was much harder than I expected. When I color, I rely heavily on the magic wand tool, which was impossible to do with this page. As it's pure black and white and absolutely not gray, magic wand couldn't tell the difference between what I wanted to select and the rest of the image. So for the majority of it, I had to go in and select in the hard way. >.<
It took five hours to color Leo alone. I gave up after that and went ahead and made the icon (points to userpic). BUT... the problem with icons is that you lose so much of the detail when it comes down to resizing them. And after all that coloring, I used less than a tenth of the picture. ;_;
Therefore, I've slowly worked on coloring the background too. Got a little more sloppy with that, but I am pleased now. And here's the final coloring. ^_^;
And now that that's said and done... I suppose I should go and try to do some chores. >.<; Gah- I am so unmotivated to do so. It's state would by now have bothered most people to be utterly disgusted, but it's only now kinda getting to me. As I stay in my room most of the time (and I don't care that that's a mess XD), I usually don't have to see the rest of the place. So it's out of sight, out of mind, etc. But then also... I have no sense of smell. I'm SURE that something should smell by now. I was surprised to learn from my stepdad that even mold has a smell. Does that mean that water that's been sitting in the sink for weeks does too? Or what about the stuff on the floor?
Smells aside (they confuse me so ;_:), I do want to someday have a presentable home. If I ever make some physical-will-actually-want-to-come-over-t
...Can this last for longer than a week or two? (crosses fingers)
P.S. Nickelodeon bought TMNT? Score. Despite what some of the other members of fandoms are thinking, this is probably a good thing. Nick is actually very good to their more serious shows. Pi is pleased. :D
But Chapter 560 is up already! Yay!
( One Piece continues to be awesome )
GAH. No chapter next week? ;_; Pi is sad.
Work yesterday was very interesting. It was 2300 pieces, but we had tons of people. Apparently we got three new guys while I was gone.
Originally I decided to help Billy throw the truck until the line got full, then go out and help. But then the manager came back and had me come out. And not for reasons I was expecting.
He said there were too many people. So instead of doing the truck, he wanted me to go bin some things that first shift didn't get to.
Pardon me as I'm still shocked over this. The hell? I've never been pulled off a truck before! And I wasn't the only one who got pulled either.
What really bugs me about it all is that after we were done and allowed to work on the truck again, we got done around seven. We could've been done earlier with all of us on it, and then we could've gotten break packs done earlier (there were tons). This system makes no sense.
Anyways... the guys were pretty happy to see me back. Billy was ticked that I didn't call him when I mentioned how hard of a time I had getting groceries with my grandma gone (he made me get some after work before he'd take me home XD).
Two of the new workers are Jackie and Janna. They're at that stage right before you can call someone an old lady. I'm really tired of working with people like that. For some reason, all of the almost-old-ladies that work in the ICS barely do any work and are bitchy as hell. It's like having three Kathy's. >.<
Ah. Must get ready for work again.
So here's Youtube Friday. I declare that there really needs to be more good AMV's about the sixth One Piece movie. Of course there is Kaizoku no Bouken 2, for which I am grateful for, but... I'm a greedy fangirl who wants more. XD
As is, this is the next best one I've seen. Doesn't hold a candle to the other AMV mentioned, but it's still very nice. :D
I am preparing my body for the pain. And wondering if I need a doctor's release to go back there. They wouldn't take a doctor's note though, and it's not like I was injured. Just sick. :/ I guess I'll find out when I get there.
I read the newest OP chapter. I love Mihawk's reaction. XD
Also, Kuma scares the crap out of me for some reason. Even though it keeps being hinted that he's not exactly their enemy, he is still extremely frightening. When they realized it was 'the bear-guy' after having first thought it was Kizaru (also scary), I was like OHSHIT.
I think this is about to get epic. So epic that I really want the rest of the crew to show up, because it'd be pretty sad if they missed out.
The first thing one needs to know about me is that I like to be entertained. I consider making a living to be a necessity and hence I do, but really I wouldn't bother if at the end of the day I couldn't sit back and relax with a variety of shows and comics and stories to amuse me.
I don't think I've ever spoken in detail about how many random shows/comics (etc) I have picked up, much less the ones I've merely dabbled in. I usually like something in all of them and will gladly rant and rave if the opportunity presents itself, but won't say much otherwise. Also, the things I like tend to range from the really awesome to pretty stupid, and sometimes a combination of the two. Seriously. I can provide a list if you're curious. It will be long and the fandoms will have very little in common with one another.
However, if I'm going to geek out I'm going to do it right and thus I only do it over a few things- mainly my favorites and new movies (simply because other people are usually also interested in those at the same time).
But alas. I don't think I do my favorites the justice they deserve. I can geek out to my hearts content but I think that mainly just cues some of my flist when to skip over my LJ for a while. XD
Clearly the only solution is to employ logic and write a fan essay. I seem to have the luck to have an flist composed of people who will bother to listen to structured reasoning.
I'll probably write fan essays for all my shows at some point, but for now I'm going to go ahead and start with One Piece. Because I've never loved something so much only to have so few people respond to my ravings. It's quite sad... ;_;
So with that, I turn to you guys! I already plan to address it's best points as well as its flaw, along with any complaints I have already heard against it. But I'm sure there's several more I haven't heard, so consider this your opportunity to slap me upside the head and tell me what you don't like about it.
Though I will also be very pleased if you could tell me just what you do like in your own favored shows/comics/movies. I think one of the main reasons why One Piece gets so ignored is because it doesn't exactly broadcast all it has to offer. Unfortunately, I jump onto just about any show that looks like it might be interesting, so I'm not as picky.
Heh. That said, I'm not trying to force any of you into liking it, either. You don't even have to read the essay when I'm done with it (though naturally I hope you do)! I just would like something more to work with than my own opinions when I write this thing, and who better to ask than you guys? :D
Icon is not really fitting to my mood, but it is so cracktastic that it demands to be used.
Anyways. My trip to the doctor (and the following trip to Wally World) was very eventful.
( The long version of how Pi has pneumonia/strep/tonsilitis )
After I went back to the doctor to have her fill out that paperwork, I went home and took some of the antibiotics I was given. And then I slept. I can kinda feel the medicine working now. I'm not coughing quite as hard anymore, but when I do it makes my stomach hurt. Not quite sure what's up with that. This stuff is definitely making me feel a little nauseated, though. Hopefully that'll go away soon.
To entertain myself, I've been roaming around Youtube. So perhaps I do that often enough already, but I was looking at a million different things last night. There's some really adorable babies on Youtube. I thought about posting a video with some of them here, but realized that most of you guys have already seen the really memorable ones already.
So then I went looking for some more AMVs. In the throes of nostalgia, I tried to find some good Digimon ones. There... really isn't many. I found like... one. It wasn't all that epic, but good enough that I thought I might share it.
Heheh... well, until I went looking for more One Piece AMV's. >.>
Ah, I am very impressed with this one, actually! It has fantastic timing, and it's special effects are complimenting instead of overwhelming. It uses a variety of clips- I think I saw at least one from every arc between the Baratie and Thriller Bark (which are separated by about three hundred episodes or so), and I spotted clips from at least five movies. Very pretty indeed. :)
It's also available for download, and that version is nice and crisp. Youtube really killed the quality on this one, though watching it in HD helps. Unfortunately, the sound on my copy kinda lags, alas.
As much as I love making them, icons are frustating work guys. Yesterday I spent six hours coloring one image. Blood is, by the way, more difficult than you'd think to color properly when there is an excess of it. I spent another two hours today working on that alone, sending the image to Angel (who really needs to get an LJ) for approval.
Once we'd both determine that it was in fact good enough to be iconned, I ended up cropping out two thirds of it all. Including said bloody area which I'd spent said two hours perfecting. WHAT THE HELL.
Adding the finishing touches is taking longer than I planned. The text doesn't want to work with me. >.<
Anyways. I guess it's something to pass the time. I'm still coughing up a lung, much to my irritation. I do all right until I have to work, naturally. But it gets kinda annoying when management, hell-bent on this new system, insists that if we don't have things done by a certain time there will be serious consequences.
...I don't think they realize just how dangerous our job was to begin with. I don't care if other stores have less people and somehow are able to get the job done faster- I'm sure there are other variables thrown in there that work to their favor that we don't have. Besides maybe the cart pushers, our job is the most physically demanding. I've seen other associates freak out when we lift things like grills or bookshelves by ourselves. They're supposed to get assistance with those items, whereas if you can't do that by yourself in the back room quickly, you're a waste of space.
I guess I just don't understand what they're expecting of us. And a part of me thinks it's really unfair that we're treated this way. I mean, on Monday the garden center guy (James) was made officially ICS. His first day back there, we got told that if we weren't done with the truck at the time given that we would all be coached. It makes my brain hurt. They keep this up, and people are going to quit. I think I'm currently the only one there who actually needs this job.
RARGH. On the plus side though, some people are understanding. I've decided I need to get sick more often (Just not for so long- COUGH. Go away NOW), if I get this much special treatment. My first day back I felt like shit and was told I looked as much. Everyone but me had hours of overtime they needed to kill and when they were told to do so at lunch, Aaron basically told them they could shove that idea where the sun don't shine, seeing as that would leave me to pull the entire backroom by myself for two hours.
When I noticed that the four hours I'd requested off for a wedding were in the second half of my sift instead of the first, I asked a support manager (the awesome one, not the asshole) if he could change it for me. He gave me the whole day off because he said I looked like I needed it (te wedding was nice, by the way).
Donald bought me some more Mike's Hard Lemonade without me even bothering to ask.
Billy stopped by my house to give me a ride to work on Friday even though he's out of work for the week.
And astonishingly, Kathy, of all people, offered to give me a ride home two days in a row. The world is... a very strange place.
So in the mean time, I sleep. And hope my cough goes away soon because otherwise I may actually have to see a doctor. My wallet will be very displeased with me if this occurs.
...I'm attempting self-medication with reading lots of fanfic, but this has backfired. I found out earlier that
Because I totally need to pimp out more fic to people, I may as well start with this one. The first chapter actually features Zoro and Shikamaru- and I didn't even suggest the idea. As a matter of fact, I didn't even know she was writing the thing until an hour or so before she posted the first chapter. On top of that, I don't even think she knew I'm a Shikamaru fan. Which made it both a surprise and amazingly perfect. (gushes)
The second chapter has too much win for words. Franky and Rock Lee. I die. XD
And this latest chapter I actually did suggest, but she did it wonderfully. Ah, it's a very good thing these characters will probably never actually meet. Because Nami would so do this.
Daniiiiiii! Have I told you how awesome you are lately? :3
I really must get around to commenting. I shall do that later, providing I have the time. Woke up late and now I only have thirty minutes to run to the bank and the post office. >.<
I've been a bit under the weather for a few weeks now. I think it's just a tiny case of bronchitis, which doesn't really warrant antibiotics (as long as you don't have a fever, which I don't believe I have). But the coughing was getting to me enough last Sunday that I didn't really want to get out of bed. So despite the fact that my sonscience kept screaming 'Two people! There'll only be two people to unload the truck if you don't go!' as it's been doing lately, I finally gave in and called in sick.
Come Wednesday I was feeling a little better though, so I decided to go into work yesterday. Naturally, my body threw a hissy fit. And then I threw the truck (Billy's out for a week 'cause he hurt his back- HOW DOES HE THROW THE DAMN THING EVERY DAY). And in edition to making me cough every five minutes, my body aches every time I shift a little. I am attributing this to being ill still, because I've thrown the truck before, and it stopped having this effect on me a while back.
I would call in some more, but I don't think I have any more sick days. Actually, I'm not even sure if I had the sick days to use the last time I called in, so no rest for me. ;_; And with everyone gone all at once, it'd be hard to convince them that I'm really not well enough to do my job.
Anyways, I must go get those errands done. But now it's time for Youtube Friday.
I am unintentionally developing a theme this week in that my video is fairly simple (I spend like my whole week picking the vid I want to show, so this was an amusing coincidence to me XD). Sometimes the best ones are! I love watching special effects, but sometimes those can overwhelm a video. This one's very nice though, and I've fallen in love with the song.
Though when it comes to One Piece vids, I always get a little sad when I come across ones that were made a while back. 'Cause that means a lack of certain characters. Ah well- at least this one has Franky in it.
Also, I've determined I clearly need to post on why One Piece is so awesome. I can count the people on my flist who knew what I'm talking about with one hand.
On to the video. It really is pretty! :D
There are times I wish one could just quit being [insert personality flaw here] like one quits an addiction. While I imagine people can change things about them for the better though, I don't think they can actually just stop being that was all together...
Alas. Quite sucky. In the mean time, I must learn to get over it and keep it from effecting any other activities, like work, etc. Our new manager both irritates and pleases me, but I'm hoping this will change once he's been here longer. The new system is going to take getting used to. It would work better with more people. I really, really want there to be more people again. I recall a time when there were fewer than there is now, but I also remember that back then not as much was expected of us. Translation: this is the worst that it's been back there so far, in my opinion. Everyone with good leadership qualities is gone, so there's no order or anything. And we're worn out every night. The other day my jeans had rubbed my skin so raw that I was bleeding a little.
On that subject, my body seems to hate me. Tonight I found six new bruises on my left leg, two on my right, and one on an elbow. WHAT THE HELL BODY. I don't even remember hurting myself in any of those places.
Rargh. Moving on to cheerier things.
I seem to have finally abandoned most of my TMNT writing endeavors, much to my shame. I do still plan on finishing Cork... someday. But at the moment, I've started a lot of One Piece projects, as well as dabble in Avatar fic if a prompt so inspires me at
I'm iconning just about all of my fandoms though. I should have a multi-fandom post sometime in the future, though I can't guarantee when. I tend to take hours on some icons, such as the one I made for
...Though he has no body, being all bones. SKULL JOKE. XD
...Yes, I'm aware that maybe three people on my f-list get that joke/know what I'm talking about. And that they're all rolling their eyes at the stupid skull joke while the rest WTF. Sorry. >.>;
But yeah. Icons! Said Brook icon won the Mod's Choice this time around, and I am blushing like a fool because of it. I'm not showing it off at the moment because I'm making corrections on it right now (which I didn't even notice until looking at it again), but if anyone's curious just go to
And since I'm still wanting to get some more coloring experience in, if anyone reading this has a scene from either the One Piece or Naruto manga they would like to see colored and iconned, say the word. :D
Another one of my favorite One Piece fight scenes, coincidentally also from Thriller Bark. I really wished it had been longer. Ryuuma was a cool opponent. :D
Also... the intro song has been on my mind for weeks now because of this. I watched a few other of this vid maker's AMV's and they seem to overlap it a lot with other songs. But I have no idea what it's called! Has a nice beat to it though.
Okay- this? What a cool idea! I only wish it were longer, though maybe that would ruin the effect. Either way, I loved it. :D
Also- Strawhats vs. Odz is one of my most favorite fights ever. It is much fun.
I have an entire week off from work to go to Washington for a religious convention. This is the longest I've been off from my job since I started working so I'm really excited!
We're going camping first, and then we'll be staying at my aunt's house. Time to get as much relaxation as possible!
I feel kinda bad for my team back at work. We were shorthanded to begin with, but I kinda made my plans all the way back in January. :/
...And on a completely different note, someone has posted the first chapter of a One Piece AU where all the characters work at Wal*Mart. And they actually seem to know what they're doing. I am way more thrilled about this than I have any right to be, but dude. Work would be so much more fun if I worked with One Piece characters.
I have already spent the majority of my morning thinking of where I might find some of these characters. Aokiji as Department Manager of frozen foods? Bon Kurei working in HBA? And Brook would be the most awesome people greeter EVAH.
And while I don't know if I'd actually put them there even if I were writing the fic, some guys with monstrous strength unloading the truck would be awesome. Just saying.
...It'd be done in under an hour. (dreams) *_*
EDIT: I'm going to come back with a whole list of Wal*Mart careers for the One Piece characters- just you watch. XD
Card refused at store
People can be difficult
Stick with cartoons, Pi
-
My, what a long day. Roleplaying gave me a bit of headache, though I imagine mine isn't nearly as bad as others. We'll leave it at that though.
In the middle of our session, I took a break to go up to Wal*Mart for some cheese. I had twenty bucks, but I wanted to save that for next week's lunch so I attempted to use my debit card. It was refused though, which is really weird. I have money in the bank, and I used that card on Monday to buy a bookshelf. (scratches head)
In the mean time, I continue to overdoes on anime, comics, and fanfic. I have three pages of One Piece faves in Word. Only titles. I am considering creating a little journal to keep track of them all, with heavy tagging and everything so I could find it all again. And then proceed to do the same with fic from other fandoms.
Fanfiction, you are my drug.
I also want to make a shitload of icons and imagine them as I work. With both anime and manga and comic images.
Speaking of the manga bit, I know I mentioned I've learned how to color them now. Anyone got a manga scene they'd love to see colored and iconned? Will do for both One Piece and Naruto as practice.
Fillers for One Piece done, it's back to the plot. As much as I miss the rest of the crew (and am hoping to see their stories for the manga elaborted on in lots of filler once they start animating Impel Down), I am excited to be getting to the Amazon Lily arc. And my joy only doubled when I watched the new episode.
Oh my God, okay- sure the anime can kinda drag at times because they make a lot of things longer than they need to be to avoid catching up with the manga. But dude. I love the anime. Every emotion is like tripled for me when I get to actually watch it all play out. This was previously discussed for the sad parts of the show, but this also goes for the funny parts.
(is dying of the laughter) I was laughing hard as they marveled at that stretchy 'mushroom', but I swear that by the time they were considering burning it off, I was practically hysterical. XD
Ahem. In the mean time. The collab with Angel is going well! I wrote a whole page today in an hour! That's the most writing I've done all year! And... know something else? I don't think it entirely sucked! I was actually kinda pleased with what I wrote, in fact. We shall add Sanji to my list of One-Piece-characters-I-think-I-might-be-a
...So far the only other character on that list is Luffy. BUT... he's also the only other character I've written as opposed to plotted for. So I count it as a good thing. ^_^
Gah, anyways I guess I should get to bed. I'm finally getting my carpet cleaned tomorrow and still have a bit of tidying up to do before the people arrive. Vaccuuming, etc. Um... other normal cleanly habits. Yeah,
I think I'm going to try and get on the ball with that though. Again. Because now it's Summer. Summer brings a) bugs and b) icky hot weather. Therefore when I open my windows to air out the apartment as much as I can, I get a combination of both. I found lots of spiders today. And beetles. And earwigs. And moths. And these were actually for the most part in places that were clean.
And then I also had to deal with the hot house. I was hoping that being in the basment would guard me against that, but no such luck. It probably helps somewhat, but you know what would help more? A freaking air conditioner. (flails)
Anyways, after my carpet is cleaned, I'm going to see my mom for my weekend. Gonna hang with the sibs and go see Transformers and eat real food and maybe get some new jeans. I'm psyched! :D
Work. Not too bad lately, besides a little drama here and there. We had a power outage last Sunday. Was SO much fun. We had to evacuate the store and everything. Then we had to cover up all of the freezers and bunkers with garbage bags to keep them cool as long as possible. Power came back on five minutes before lunch ended though, so it was back to business as usual afterwards.
We get a new guy today. His name is Donald, and he's helped us out before. He's going to be a big help. :D
What else... Oh yeah. Been iconning. See that one up there? I'm learning how to color manga and that's one of my attempts. I shan't spoil any of my other ones though. ^_^
And on the subject of One Piece, Angelfeatherwriter (you TMNT fic readers should know her) and I are collabing on a project right now! Fic project! We spent like four hours talking about it before we started writing too, so I think both of us are pretty excited.
Have been getting back into making icons. And not just ones I'd like to use either- I've actually been doing some playing around too. And variations. Because I'm never completely satisfied. I hope to soon have a multifandom post or something. ^_^
Grandma called me after dropping Shen off at the humane society. She said she had calmed down considerably by the time they got there and that there were actually two people there who were looking for cats as well. Not that that means they picked Shen or anything, but two people on a Thursday is pretty good, I think. Definitely makes me think she has more of a chance. (is hopeful)
I do owe my grandma ten bucks for taking her though. Which kinda sucks... as this week's paycheck isn't even enough to pay my rent, which is due, not to mention the four bills that come after it. I think I can hold off on the water and the phone bill until next time I'm paid, but that's still going to leave me with less money in the bank than I'd wanted.
...And yes, you all know why. Shush. I haven't bought a comic for a whole week now, okay (and the one I bought was hard to find!)? >.>
I just plan to skim on groceries (and yes, comic books too) until I can get that nice $600 cushion going again. I don't really feel comfortable unless I have at least that, for some odd reason. And it's not like i eat much anymore anyways. Snacks work for me. ^_^
Okay, and now it's Youtube Friday! And today's video comes with a mini-rant.
One of the hardest things I find in my AMV watching has got to be coming across a good AMV that A) doesn't have subtitles (you can have the most badass timing and special effects but this will ruin it for me) and B) doesn't have a lengthy intro.
That last one becomes increasingly hard, especially when people start joining these little studios and thus have to credit everyone in the studio. I once sat through a two minute intro. About clawed my eyes out. I like intros to be short and sweet- claim what you make, but don't flaunt it.
So this video here does that... technically. There is a bit of a rant in text at the beginning, which was semi-annoying (if you're like me and wish to skip it, go to :39), but did not ruin the video any. I actually forgot about it by the time I got to the end (until I went to replay and then was like 'oh yeah' XD).
Speaking of the end- yeah, this isn't really ten minutes long. This is one of those people who adds a still image to the end of their video because of that rumor going around thatif you leave one up long enough, it will make your video higher quality. And... well, I ain't going to argue on that one. Because for Youtube, this is actually pretty damn good quality. You just have to wait for it to load most, if not all, of the way before you play it, otherwise it'll freeze.
Um... enough instructions? ^_^; So yeah. This is a One Piece AMV, and the sole reason why I'm showing it is because after all of the above, it IS one of the best I've seen recently. And I laughed hard at the rockers and hiphoppers line. XD
