I am obviously having a horrible case of cycling through by Bipolar again. It's going so fast I can't quite keep a good hold on it, which is frustrating because it hasn't been this bad since high school. Yeah- I'm annoyed.

-

Kathy should like, go fall off the face of the Earth or something. Along with all of the people like her. THE WORLD WOULD BE SUCH A BETTER PLACE.

-

People also need to stop being so sensitive. I can not be snippy with you if I've spoken less than two sentences all day. Wanna complain to management to me about that? Fine. Someday I'll just be telling them about how you spend twenty minutes or more talking to people every time you take out a pallet.

-

New Toshiba laptop- ALL IS FORGIVEN. Okay, LJ still looks kinda weird and cropping is as weird as I thought it'd be, but HOLY CRAP you're so much speedier than my old laptop! Downloading Photoshop always took at least four hours, but with you I had it in twenty minutes! (loves on)

-

I picked up Brook from One Piece at a RP here on LJ. I had to drop Agent Bishop at the TT one due to stress and time issues, but this one has a bit of a slower pace. I'm having so much fun, though. I can tell I need to work on him some, though. I don't think I'm doing too horribly though (I hope...?), so there's at least that. :D

-

I miss my mother. And even my stepdad, sometimes. I'm afraid of talking to most other people. I've been thinking about moving back with them for a few months- I could transfer to another Walmart and save up some money. Without bills, I'd be able to help them out some too.

Not going to happen until at least January though (I'm sticking around for the bonus check at my Walmart, kthnx). We'll see if I'm still up for it by then.

-

One of my icons won first place at this week's [info]op_ic icontest! I was so surprised! I've gotten several of the Mod's Choice awards, and last time I got a third place, but never a first! On top of that, one of my other icons won for the Special Category (Best Crop), so I am pleased. ^_^

-

Because of the events of last year where the Walmart worked got trampled to death on Black Friday, Walmart will be open all day on Thanksgiving now. So we don't get half days off now.

Sometimes customers disgust me. In addition to the absolute horror of how selfish some of those people acted at that store when the poor guy died, now they get rewarded with having more time to shop. On top of that, we have to work with them longer while they're at their worst. WTF.

-

Watched Ice Age 3 finally. Ah, I loved the first one. None of the sequels have been on the same level, but at least they're still entertaining. As for this one- BUCK. He made the movie, I swear.

Manny: Just when exactly did you lose your mind?
Buck: About three months ago. I woke up married to a pineapple. An ugly pineapple. *sighs happily* But I loved her so...

-

I locked myself out of my house today. After having no luck picking the lock, I remembered that one of the windows was open and decided to try and open it. Unfortunately, as I was pushing up against it, I stumbled and ended up breaking the glass and cutting myself open while I was at it. It's very annoying to have your hands covered in blood and no way to wash them off for an hour. Besides how much colder they get in this weather, it's worse when you're trying very hard not to get blood all over your neighbor's door.

I cleaned it as best as I could though, and I have some nice thick bandaids. It was only a tiny cut, just deep and fairly wide. If I don't keep the bandaids on, whenever I go to grab something it splits right back open and that is getting really annoying really fast. If it doesn't stop doing that by tomorrow I'm just going to superglue it.

Also, the broken window sucks and will probably cost more than a locksmith would have (fifty bucks). I AM BROKE. I have to call the landlord tomorrow, but I'm hoping he'll let me wait until I get paid next to do it.

Why Pi fails at being lead )
For an even sunnier side, a discussion on money that doesn't involve woe!

So a few days ago, the store manager walked into the back room. No big deal- seen him plenty of times there before. He's a pretty nice guy actually- kinda quiet, but very efficient. Hence being the store manager and all.

The worrisome bit happened when he walked over to me and requested to talk to me privately for a minute.

My little alarm bells were going off loudly at that point (they tend to sound like 'ohshitohfuck'), and my evil imagination was off creating several horrible scenarios as to why he might need to talk to me. I got this conversation:

Store Manager: So, today the minimum wage went up.
Pi: ...Huh?
Store Manager: Well see, since you make the minimum amount for your pay grade, this means your wages have also been bumped up.
Pi: Oh. That's cool!
Store Manager: Extra money is always great!

The funny part though is that a few months ago, Billy got a raise at his year evaluation (they are required to give one after the first year), and therefore didn't get this raise. Whereas my evaluation didn't take place until today, at which I got my year's raise. He whined considerably, but with his second job he makes way more money then me anyways, so he didn't complain for long.

But yes. Come September, it will take effect and I'll be making just over eight dollars an hour. I am pleased. :D

Moving away from work stuff- I've been watching movies. It came to my realization the other day that I have never read any of the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, or Chronicles of Narnia books- nor seen the movies inspired from them. I've decided to remedy this and watched the first five Harry Potter films (movies are shorter, and I hate skimming through books if I end up not liking them).

I found them... okay. Not horrible, but I wasn't terribly impressed, either. They were kinda confusing in places, and I actually found myself more interested with some of the side characters than any of the more featured protagonists/antagonists. In their defense though, they did progressively get better with each new movie, so I didn't get bored either.

Moving on- I decided to save Narnia and LOTR for another time and instead rented Coraline. Holy SHIT. What an awesome movie! I am a secret fan of stop motion (James and the Giant Peach is love) to begin with, but I found myself completely enchanted with the story and the characters even more (as it should be). The people all acted like people- with the variety of adults both busy and strange to the antics of the children. Ah, how nice it is to see a movie where kids act like kids, with all their strengths and weaknesses! I loved that none were dumbed down, and how that they got along about as much as they were annoyed/weirded out by one another. The Other World was also really cool- from the colorful awesomeness at it's beginning to the creepy turn it took.

I love this movie to bits. It wasn't rushed at all- it was a rather smooth and enjoyable ride. I went looking for the book it's based on when I found about it and was kinda sad to see Wybie was just made up for the movie, but I still think I'll read it. ^_^

And now for bed. Will talk about the trip I'm going on tomorrow before I leave. XD

Today wasn't quite as grand as I'd been hoping. Went to my orthodontist appointment. Everyone remember my plan to just wear my retainer at night? Heheh- lovely reminder that why yes, I do still have my moments of brilliance in which I prove my way works just as good.

His exact words and here I quote: "You're teeth are looking pretty straight. Good to see you're wearing your retainer full-time."

Then he fixed the wire a little where I'd bent it and gave me an appointment for three months down the line. I call that win for me. ^_^

So afterwards, we went to see the movie. I've seen so many mixed reviews over it. It's been burned by critics but hailed by a lot of people I know.

As for me? Well... it broke about even. XD

You know what my father was? A wheel! The first wheel! And do you know what he transformed into? Nothing! But he did it with honor! )
Movie spoilers out of the way, did anyone else see the trailer for The Last Airbender? So far as trailers go, it was pretty unremarkable, but I still found it very interesting. First time I've seen the Aang actor, in any case, and as much as this movie will suffer from race!fail, I was imagining worse. Doesn't excuse it at all, of course, but whatever. If anyone knows me, you will know that when it comes to fiction or movies, etc. I tend to be rather forgiving.

Seriously. If I can get over what they did to Deadpool if the Wolverine movie to plan on watching it again, then this too shall pass for me. Eventually.

Moving on- I'm officially broke. Three important non-comic related transactions cleared days earlier than they should have and now I'm twenty-five bucks in the hole. Yes, I'm taking this as a lesson to spend more wisely. I even drew up a budget! Every month, I should have about two hundred and fifty dollars left over after expenses, and I plan to put at least two hundred or so away for savings from now on.

All I have to do is keep myself from not spending it. To do this, I decided to get a PayPal account. Makes no sense, but allow me to explain.

My basic fault thus far when it comes to buying comics has been my fear of being able to find particular issues again if I don't purchase certain ones as soon as they become available. Some of these ones are actually really hard to find, you know, and when they pop up they're usually bought just as quickly.

Unless you're on eBay. Just about everything's on eBay.

So... I've convinced myself that now that I actually have PayPal, should I ever need certain issues, I can now wait to buy them until I can actually afford them. And thus in theory control my spending, especially considering as I don't haunt eBay like I do other sites.

Crossing my fingers on this one. In the mean time, I get paid tomorrow and as I only went overdrawn less than a few hours ago, I'm hoping that if I deposit my paycheck before a whole day is even up they'll be more forgiving when it comes to any fees I may have to pay.

21 May 2009 @ 04:11 am

My days have been rather strange lately. First we have five days a week which completely wear me down to Pi-shaped jello but at least provide me with some form of social behavior. Then we have my two day weekend which provides me with the much needed relaxation (when I actually get it, mind you) but goes way too damn fast for me to relax, thus usually ends up consisting of me spending around thirty-two hours feeling generally very lonely and trying to make myself realize that I will always be this social recluse and should therefore just give up and admit it already.

This is the norm. I state it because the past two days (my weekend) deviated from this pattern, for the most part.

Started out basic enough. 'Cept this time I got to sleep in, which I haven't been able to do for a while because of driver's ed (I'm in the second class now, and therefore no longer have to repeat the classroom setting). Woke up, played around the house for a bit. And then I decided I wanted to treat myself. Do something nice outside the house, yatta yatta. So I called the local movie theatre to see what was playing.

Turns out one of the two movies was Star Trek, and I figured I should see it soon before someone at work spoiled it for me. Like my situation last time I tried to see a movie here, there was but one showtime. Conflicted with meeting schedules, but as I don't really skip those unless work has me so tired I can't move to get up and go, I figured it couldn't hurt.

Plans made, I then spent the next hour or so debating whether or not I should tell my Grandma. These kind of conversations can get rather irritating and I was in no mood for one. In the end though, I decided to call her. Only polite to let her know not to pick me up, right?

Sometimes I really hate having a conscience. Nine times out of ten, it leads me to doing something that should be the wise course of action  but actually just ends up with me very upset.

Naturally this was one of those times. Grandma was pissed, I was pissed with her accusations, and I looked like a schizo when I ranted about it to myself on the way to the theatre.

That wasn't the good part about my weekend. No worries- it got better this time.

As I'd left pretty early, before the movie I stopped in at a supply store. In the back they has baby ducks and chicks. They were all very fuzzy and cute and tiny and made me feel all warm inside. And that kinda set the mood.

Went to see Star Trek. It was made of awesome.

Spoilers: The Final Frontier! )
The trailers were also pretty sweet. Second time seeing the one for the new Transformers movie, and it continues to look awesome. I was surprised with the GI Joe one though. Man, I'm so behind! I had no idea that one was coming out so soon! It too looked really neat. :D

Anyways, went home and [info]ivy_chan gave me crossover goodness! This entry is long enough as is, so I'll explain my love for crossovers and provide links to each drabble she did tomorrow. Trust me though- they're brilliant.

Okay, so yeah. That was day one. I ended it in a much better mood. Relaxed, went to bed, etc.

Today I woke up earlier than I'd have liked, but I went out in service with my friend, her cousin, and his wife (they're a young couple, very nice). I went to a door with the cousin and met a very nice man who used to be a contractor. He'd bought this old house and was restoring it. We had a nice discussion with him, but it was kinda new for me. I think that was the first time I was ever invited so quickly into someone's home without anyone saying anything besides the fact that we're Jehovah's Witnesses. Exciting, but like with many other religious activities, it made me nervous. I think he could tell too. Gotta work on that. >.<

Still! Good experience!

When service was done, I went home for a bit but was actually invited with my friend to the aforementioned couple's home. They had barbecue chicken and homemade potato salad (I don't like potato salad usually. And I hate mustard, which this family uses a lot of. But holy crap, I'll be damned if tha wasn't the best potato salad I've ever had) and chips with homemade dip (cucumber and cream cheese- again, it was delicious). To top it off, my friend made apple pie from scratch while we were there. Oh my... so gooooood.

We ate it while watching one of the cousin's favorite movies, Galaxy Quest. I actually hadn't seen this movie for a very long time. I could only remember one part acutally, but I remember thinking the rest was really stupid. It wasn't, surprisingly. It was actually pretty damn funny! And ah- kindered spirits with the fanboys. XD

Nextly, I won this week's fic contest at [info]avatar_contest . I wasn't expecting it all so it was a pleasant surprise. I actually didn't post my fic here because I wasn't impressed by it, but since it won I will. Er... another thing I'll do tomorrow when I wake up. I is tired.

Last but not least for my good weekend- some of my Deadpool comics have finally shown up. I have read The Circle Chase, Sins of the Past, and the first issue of his 1997 solo series. I have the next nine issues plus an annual in another book, but I'm saving them for the rest of the week. Seriously though- this is love.

If anyone's interested, I've found scans of the first issue online. Say the word and I'll provide linkage.

Come onnnn. You know you want it. :D

I'm very glad I decided to clean up every part of my house now, as my stepdad ended up being in it far longer than I expected. It was apparently clean enough to his satisfaction, as he made no remark on that. He did say that it was getting a cat smell to it, which I'm going to take to be true, as I have no sense of smell. Will work on that.

We moved my new futon in (I really hope Shen doesn't ruin it while I'm gone), and while I got my bag he took a look around. He about had a heart attack when he saw the bathroom.

None of this was due to me maintaining it wrong or whatever. I actually had no idea what it was (it wasn't green, so I saw no problem and just ignored it), so I kinda have just been ignoring it while musing on just what it was while taking a shower.

You see, on the wall of my bathroom near the window, a bunch of spots have been accumulating for sometime. At first it looked like dust, but it gradually began to thicken in other areas until it was a really dark brown. It rubbed right off when I touched it once, so I figured it was no big.

Yeah, I was wrong. My stepdad said it was black mold, and promptly confiscated my spray bottle and household chemicals to make a concoction to kill it.

...At least I know why I've been sick so often lately.

Anyways, after that we met up with my mom and siblings at the movie theatre to see X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I will call WTF on a few things, but for the most part? It was a pretty good movie. :D

Much Awesome )
...Lot on Deadpool. Wolverine was awesome too, though! :D

P.S. I got the Deadpool ending. SWEET.

Once again, I am left with no choice but to combine a whole bunch of stuff into one post. Because I seem to be too lazy to write up stuff as it happens these days.

So firstly, the fanfic comp is now over and finished rather smoothly. In the end we only had three ties, and none were for first place. Not bad at all. Everyone also seemed really pleased with how quickly the results were posted, so yay there as well. I was also pretty pleased with the results- a lot of my favorites won without me even having to vote for them. ^_^

Putting the hosting duties to the side, I myself was also on the ballot and was surprised to find myself watching the votes come in for me. 'Twas for the same story in two different categories- I got second place for Best Short Work and first for Best Villain.

That's... surprisingly good. The stories I was up against in both categories were like, really, really good. I went and reread mine to compare. I honestly can't see how they placed as high as they did. I mean, I don't think I sucked, but in comparison I find several fics to have been more deserving.

Seesaw was written on the spur of the moment, in the attempt to just write something and have it up in time for a goodfic flood. I like it, but I don't think it's anything special.

Not that I'm ungrateful! Because it's seriously nice to see people thought highly enough of it to vote for it. It just baffles me, I guess.

Nevertheless, yay! I wrote barely nothing and I still get recognized. I has not been forgotten. :3

Next matter of business- I watched Bolt online a couple of hours ago. OMG- I liked that movie a lot more than I thought I would. It had it's moments of total cuteness, but it also had some really developed characters. I loved all three of the animals (Bolt is the dog, obviously, and then there's Mittens the cat and Rhino the hamster). They just had so much personality. Oh, and the pigeons. Freaking hilarious. The Nemo jab was awesome. XD Really- it was totally great to watch. I may even buy it.

And because I can't talk about movies without at least one quote...

Bolt: There's a guard.
Rhino: I'll snap his neck.

And finally for something a little more serious.

On friendship and religion and I'm still confused )

Long rambling entry once again. Probably made no sense, but at least it's an entry.

I awoke bright and freaking early to reread the driver's manual. Was exhausted, but I made it to the DMV. They were a little busy, thus they had two people helping everyone who came in. One was the lady from before, and the other was the one who actually helped me.

Though I actually had no choice in the matter, I was very pleased to end up with the non-bitchy one. I presented my birth certificate and proof of residence and stated I needed to get a new permit. Upon asking when the old one had expired, I told her the first of this current month.

She was rather surprised by this and informd me that I shouldn't have to take the test again until a year after my permit expires. I told her that the other lady had told me otherwise and the newer lady made a quick phone call to find out what was up.

Turns out the first lady was just an idiot. Didn't have to take the test again, and after a quick little picture I had my new permit. Yayness. ^_^

Afterwards I went to driver's ed. Learned some very brief stuff and then came home to get my stuff ready to go to mom's house.

...Only stuff came up preventing my stepdad from coming to get me. (headdesk) I'm still bummed. However, he's picking me up early tomorrow. And I got to RP tonight over at TT to pass the time and the stuff.

Also watched the animated Wolverine vs. Hulk movie that came out a month or two ago. Am still fangasming over the Wolverine trailer and subsequently went on a Deadpool kick. Upon seeing clips with him from it, I had to watch.

...I was disappointed. ;_; Lionsgate did awesomely with their Avenger movies, but everything else is really starting to blow. This one was only an hour long and was basically all random fight scenes in which blood was everywhere and Deathstrike appeared to have an orgasm upon stabbing Wolverine (Pi: ...WTF? O_o). People also lose their arms a lot. The Professor in the begiining has his cut off, and then Wolverine cuts off one of Deathstrike's robotic ones. He also proceeds to later slice off one of Deadpool's not so cybernetic arms... though that was actually kinda funny (Deadpool: (*trying to put the pieces back together* There we go... No, that's not right. ...What the hell? Oh, now it's upside down... *adjusts* There she is! Sweet.). Anyways, later Deathstrike gets both cybernetic ones ripped off. It just happened a lot.

I know the thing was based off a very early comic (featuring Wolverine's first appearance if I remember correctly, as a matter of fact), but it was just really lacking. No development at all, and it literally ends with Hulk and Wolverine starting up another fight.

Deadpool was awesome though. I'd rewatch just for him.

...

Deathstrike: (moves The Professor's body with her foot)
Sabertooth: The last thing The Professor said before he gutted him was for us to kill Wolverine'!
Deadpool: Really. Huh. (to Omega Red) You buy that? Yeah, you know, I would think the last thing he would've said was "AHHHH! Sabertooth!" (makes death noises)

So today was eventful for me. That might not be saying much as usually my days are pretty routine: work, computer, sleep, repeat when I work, and relax, meetings, computer, sleep when I don't. XD

Today though was different. Firstly I awoke to being super stuffed up. My nose is killing me, and the way my mouth feels is indicating that laryngitis is in the works. Likely indicates Spring is also coming.

Anyways, I got ready and deaprted my house with the intentions of catching a bus and going to see Watchmen before anyone could spoil it for me. Sad thing is, there's one movie theatre in this town and it only shows two movies at a time. And during the weekdays, each movie only has one showtime. So basically, there's no 'Oh, we'll catch the next showing'.

Said showing was at 6:45 PM. Tuesday night meetings start at 7:30 PM, and I have plans to start RP'ing Bishop over at TT around 7 PM my time tomorrow. I decided to skip out on the meeting, as I've yet to miss the Tuesday one for two months, and it'd be nice to relax and all. I was very nervous about doing so though, because I didn't want anyone from the congregation to see me skipping it... especially for an R rated movie. I don't have much of a spine, I'm afraid. In fact, I'd been debating with myself the whole week over whether I should go or not.

But I did in the end. Like I said, I was going to catch the bus. I looked up the times and everything only to find the bus stops it's runs at six. Wouldn't have been so bad, but due to the routes, it would've meant I'd have to catch the bus at 5:20 and kinda be left with nothing much to do until the movie started at 6:45.

So instead I decided to walk! Er...after I couldn't find the busstop, anyways. ^_^; Nevertheless, it was a lot more fun. I needed to see how long it would take for me to get to that side of town anyways. Turns out there's a shortcut (albeit a creepy one) that got me there in thirty minutes.

Thirty minutes after all the stops I made, anyways. On my way I stopped at the bank and caught them before closing. With plenty of time I headed in the direction of the theatre, going through town to do it. Even when I lived here when was a kid, I never knew much about these places. It's all a bunch of little hole in the wall kinda stores, and they tend not to stay for long. So imagine my surprise when I found a bookstore! I'd been to this place before a while back at another location and had been under the impression it had closed. As it turns out, they'd just moved to their current location at that time!

I was very pleased about this. It's a cute little place. The lady there has a giant dog named Gus, and he was just the sweetest thing. I bought four books there before continuing on my way.

This is where I found the shortcut. See, the town is kinda cut in half by a railroad (I've seen more trains here than anywhere else). By one of the parks next to it, I found a tunnel that goes under it and takes you to the other side. Is kinda longer crossing the tracks, because the railroad is up higher, you see. The tunnel is actually on ground level.

Anyways- 'twas a cool little tunnel. Has an awesome echo effect. Nevertheless, I can see a lot of bad things happening there if you're caught at the wrong time.

After the tunnel, I was on the other side of town. Still had quite a bit of time left, alas, so I ended up killing it by eating at McDonald's. That's been my comfort food since I was a kid- also got the bad taste of impending laryngitis out of my mouth. When I was finished, it was time for the movie.

Firstly- the trailers all have me really hyped right now. Star Trek looks excellent (and apparently has had a name change) and OMFG. I am still having fangasms over the X-Men Origins: Wolverine trailer. Holy shit, I can barely articulate my excitement. If you've yet to see it, take a look:

ZOMG, guys. I keep rewatching it. I'm already intrigued with the plot for one. Secondly? The characters. Holy. Freaking. Crap.

A few I was expecting, as I have some recollection of Wolverine's origin story from the 90's cartoon. There's Sabertooth (and here he can actually articulate things). We also have Agent Zero and Silver Fox, both of which I'm really excited to see.

But then. Then we have more! Kestrel! Emma Frost! Deadpool! And GAMBIT. Do you know how freaking long I've been waiting to see Gambit in the movies (seriously, why wasn't he in any of the X-Men ones?)? Forever. This is epic, man! I can't contain my joy. :D So excited!

Anyways, on to Watchmen.

Please don't hurt me, but... )

Did you know that for like ten bucks, you can get a hundred icon slots?

(strokes beard which does not exist) I am seriously contemplating this. Obviously I can't do it right now, but maybe when I have more money I will. Mom owes me some, and I'm getting this inkling that I should be getting more than I'm expecting. If it covers the money I so unfortunately lost? Then hell yes, I think I shall do this.

...Because I'm growing just slightly addicted to the prettiez, okay? I can't stop trying to make them or gushing at other people's.

Not that I think I'll actually use all one hundred, but I can still get a lot in there.

Anyways, after my burst of productivty, I treated myself to a movie I got a while back but never bothered to actually watch until tonight. Anyone ever see Zodiac? Ho-ly shiiiiiit. What a great true crime movie. It actually gave me goosebumps at some parts, even if certain scenes were dramatized (it's a freaking movie though- can't blame them). And hell, despite that, they stayed really close to the facts. Even if the ending pushed that Arthur Leigh Allen was the Zodiac, when the case has never been solved.

Though don't get me wrong- I myself think he did it, but the fact is that most of the evidence against him was circumstancial. Alas, unless some new DNA evidence were to suddenly come up that matches the brain tissue they saved after his death for the just-in-case scenario, they'll never be able to prove it.

This movie totally had me heading back to my encyclopedia of serial killers and re-reading this case. Such fascinating stuff. Did you know that there were approximately 2,500 suspects for the Zodiac? With so many, it makes it really easy for me to accept why the case has still been left open. And upon looking at Wikipedia, I was surprised to find that just a few months ago, the matter was being looked into yet again with another suspect (Jack Tarrance). Apparently, they found mixed DNA in the tests taken on a letter, 'as if two people licked the same envelope', which basically renders it useless. So they can't determine if it was him, but he remains a suspect.

...And somehow I got to going on about a serial killer when I just wanted to say what a damn good movie Zodiac was. >.< My bad, folks. But it was really good. If this stuff is your cup of tea, I definitely rec it.

Here's the trailer if you care to see it:

And now I'll go to bed, as I have stuff to do in the morning.

Well, today has been both good and bad. I seriously enjoyed the time spent with my mom- we went to the movies, just the two of us, and it was excellent.

Since it started late, we were able to see Seven Pounds, missing only a few of the previews.

Oh. My. God. It was excellent. Very good movie, full of all kinds of moments. Even had some twists, which actually elluded me until the point they were revealed. The acting was excellent, and the emotion was just delicious.

Though seriously- it's one of the saddest movies I've ever seen. I cried a little- this doesn't happen often for me with movies. It was... a very human movie. I highly rec it. And it's taking everything in my power not to spoil any of it.

Anyways, after that we came home and made some pie. Mmm... apple and lemon meringue. Made of such love. :3 We ate it over at a friend's house with some other folks at the bookstudy. They're changing our meeting schedules around, so the studies held this week (in my parent's case, a Thursday) are the last ones where we meet in small groups. They'll be held along with the Tuesday meeting next year, meaning I'll actually be able to attend it again.

I'm getting off track. So in honor of it being the last bookstudy everyone's so used to, those in this small group decided to get together before we started for dinner. Was nice seeing some of them again.

It was when we came home that things took a 3vil turn. My sister happened to have left the bathroom door open when we left. Guess who was in there? Why yes, you'd be correct if your response was my kitten.

My parents' home is vastly larger than my little apartment, with seven times the hiding places. Everyone's gone to bed now, but we haven't found her yet. This is frustrating, seeing as I have to go back home early in the morning. >.<

I wish I knew where she was hiding. She's not the kind of cat who can be lured out with food- hell, she won't even come out to use the bathroom. I've never met an animal who could hold it. Shen most certainly can, unfortunately. She doesn't meow or anything either, so it's not like I can use sound to locate her.

Ugh. (brains self) Damn kitten. Damn siblings- it's not that hard to keep a door shut, you know. It's actualy quite simple- you reach out your hand and close it.

(looks under more stuff)

Oh yeah. I also think my Ethernet cable is broken. It's plugged into my modem, but it's not connected. Currently, I'm piggy-backing off of someone else's network, but this cool little trick doesn't work back in my basement. So if for some reason I can't fix this little problem tomorrow, I'll see you guys as soon as I'm able.

EDIT: Aha! Kitty has been found! I still have no idea where she was hiding in the first place, but I left my room to grab something to eat and there she was, just walking around. (huggles Shen)

...I swear to God, this cat is set out to give me a heart attack.

Eh... today be my day off. I'm too lazy to do much today, and sore to boot.

I did buy The Dark Knight, though *_*. There is great advantage to working until one in the morning, especially on days new movies are being released on DVD. :D

I watched it again while wrapping up the presents I got for the little boy on the tag I picked off of the Giving Tree. What a totally weird experience. Awesomeness from a dark and violent movie mixed with the careful planning of increasing a child's joy with a warm coat and shoes and the fluffiness of a new blanket and stuffed puppy. O_o

Heheh... hope he likes them. I hid each present inside of a present. That was my attempt to make up for the horrid wrapping job. >.< He's a kid though- he probably won't care too much about that.

Besides that, I've spent most of my days reading as much One Piece fanfiction as possible. I finally found a good many more (dreamy sigh), but alas... I think I may have reached the end. Nooooez! ;_;

So I continue to look for more. Hopefully I'll find some.

And holy crap. Best quiz ever. (DIES)

It's nice being around people again. While out in service, I saw the cutest little puppies. And I mean little. They were a Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix and just as sweet as can be. Seven weeks old and still small enough to fit in my hand. If the woman hadn't already given them (that's right- give, not buy) away, I'd probably have taken one.

Great. So now I want a kitten and a puppy. XD

Though really, I think I'd have to stay with a kitten. Simply because puppies need twice the attention. I dunno. We'll see. Still haven't decided.

Anyways, after service, I was dropped back off at my place for an hour because my friend got a buyer for some of her goats. She picked me up when she was done and went back to her house. I got a very yummy dinner- noodles with chicken sauce and homemade apple pie for dessert. We rented 21, a movie which I enjoyed. It was very nice. I hope to see them once or month or so to hang out like that some more.

Gah... why is it Thursday already? ;_; At least tomorrow should be easy enough. If I don't waste them before then, I think I'm going to take some sick days after Christmas to relax.

In the mean time, I'm continuing work on my one-shots while the muse is still with me. I hope to have two or more one-shots/chapters up by the end of the month. Oh, and if you're reading this [info]whiteadelphi, I also finally got around to writing up that next piece of our robin. Shall give it to you next time I see you online.

Thus far, I have to say... living on my own has been one of the best experiences of my life. I mean, I got home yesterday from seeing a movie and was sitting down at my laptop when I realized that I haven't been this happy in a long time. Even throwing the foot pain in there, I am, for the most part... happy. :D It's a strange feeling!

I barely did anything yesterday. My alarm clock didn't go off, so I ended up waking two hours later than I planned. I had about an hour tojust get awake before my grandma came over so we could get some things done.

First thing on the list was picking up my debit card. For some reason, putting that card into my wallet seemed bigger than getting my permit. Probably because I haven't done much with said permit ^_^;. Either way, it felt like a real adult step or something. Was really cool.

And holy crap- it's so neat looking! Like, all pretty and everything. And it has my name on it. O.O Duuuuuude... That shouldn't be as awesome as it is! XD

After I got that, my grandma went to her own bank to get a withdrawl for groceries later. Then she took me to this new subdivision that isn't quite done yet (and thus a bit more empty) and I got to practice driving for a while. It's been a while since I was behind the wheel, and I've only done that twice. Nevertheless, things seemed to come a little easier now. I remembered to use my turn signal 99% of the time- the one time I didn't when I was trying to figure out how to Yield and and do it at the same time. >.>

That was the harder part, I think. I couldn't quite remember what to do at a Yield. Hopefully next time will be better. Another thing to work on is a problem my stepdad pointed out during my first lesson last year- I overcompensate when I turn the wheel sometimes, so when I go to straighten out the vehicle afterwards, I end up having a harder time at it then I should. (scratches head) Maybe I'm turning too slow? Because when I do it, I try to turn the wheel just the right amount, but I always feel like I'm going to hit the curb or something when I do so I end up turning it a little more. Hmm... (considers)

Other than that though, I think I did fairly well. Stayed on the right side of the road most of the time as well, the only time I didn't being during some of those oddball turns of mine. But since no one was really in the street, I didn't have to worry about hitting anyone.

When we were done there, I went to grandma's and lounged for a bit. That's another thing that's been great about me being on my own- my relationship with my family members is actually seeming to improve! I haven't had stressing conversations with any of them, for the most part, since I've moved in here. And with my grandparents, I actually seem to be getting along with them well! I like this a lot. Maybe someday I can do the same with my dad? He'll be harder, I know, but it's not impossible.

Anyways- before going to grandma's, we'd driven by the little theatre in town and I'd seen that Eagle Eye was playing. I've been wanting to see that for awhile, but thought I wouldn't go as it's not much fun seeing a movie by yourself. And it's not like it's my grandparents' kind of movie.

That was when I remembered though- the only person I've really been able to keep a friendship going with that lived so far away? Yeah, we're in the same town now. :D So I called her up and asked if she'd like to go with me, and she ended up bringing her sisters, cousin, and two people I don't know. XD It was cool though! Her family is really nice, and I like hanging out with them when I can. Heck, they're usually less busy than I am! And her older sister has offered to help teach me how to drive as well, which is really neat.

The movie was really great, by the way. I give it a little Pi Stamp of Approval! It was definitely my kind of movie- action with a nice side of thriller.

One of my favorite lines is the thing about the timers. XD I won't quote it because it has the potential to spoil, but it was awesome.

My friend took me home after the movie was done, and I came into the bedroom. I already stated my little realization above, but yeah. It's great to finally have things going for me. Though I miss talking to peoples online and stuff. ;_; It's like no one's on anymore, even if I know it's only me who isn't on anymore! XD

Seriously though- I miss. Though I don't miss some of the crazy net drama that goes on, and I hope there hasn't been any of that. I'm kinda keeping an eye on one that could be starting up, but hopefully it won't fully develop.

Though all things considered, with the way this fandom runs it probably will. >.<

We had a lengthy garage sale today in which I made a whole quarter. Wahoo.

After putting everything away around three, I took a nap. Around six, I was awoken by my mother saying she and my aunt were going to see The Mummy movie and if I wanted to go I needed to be in the car in thirty seconds.

It wasn't until I was actually in the car that  was told I had to pay my own way in. >.< Gee, thanks Mom.

Anyways, as for the movie, I thought it was okay. I liked the first two better, myself. For one, the replacement actress they got was a serious bore. She seemed nothing like the old actress, and she was actually just an annoyance to me throughout the movie. The rest of the cast was good, and I liked the plot for the most part. Though it kinda lost it's steam for me heading towards the end. I expected more out of the Dragon Emperor (Jet Li) in that final fight there considering what he'd done in the rest of the movie.

My favorite part would probably be when they were trying to keep the Emperor away from the tower. When the Yeti showed up? That was way cool. :)

Had I known what the movie was going to be like, I would've rented it when it came out on DVD. I would have much rather have seen Batman again. Or something else there.

Anyways, I got home a little while ago. Where is everyone today? Nothing happened at SS, nothing at TT. I came on LJ to find only two new entries on my flist. The only good thing at FF.net was written by

[info]whiteadelphi, and since I've gotten to read it several times now before it hit there, it wasn't new. Heheh... didn't stop me from reading it again though. It's a great fic.

But seriously- what happened to the good stories? I'd ask why we're being attacked by brain-damaged individuals who have managed to work a keyboard, but then I remember we at least still have some good writers in the fandom. Whereas the other ones I check on from time to time rarely produce anything worth looking at.

...Still. I want goodfic, please. :D

Just got back from seeing The Dark Knight. Wow. At the beginning (sans first five minutes which I saw on Youtube >.>), I wasn't entirely impressed. But it got good really fast. Complete fave for me, and I'll be buying it as soon as it comes out on DVD.

It was all good. I'm definitely looking forward to more Batman.

... Now why do I feel like writing Cork? XD

Awesome! All of my dragons have grown up. :3 The gold one, whom I've named Orphrey, is another boy. But I can still breed him with Supernal. :)

Heh... gotta hurry with this one!

Grandma's been irritating, but I've pulled through. I made an appointment today- and she wouldn't leave! Gah! Almost ruined the sale for me! But I did make that sale! A french chef knife, a paring knife, a table knife, and a trimmer for free! Yay!

After that, my friend and I went to see Wall-E. My God! It was so cute! Thank you so much for recommending it, Tori! I'd have never gone to see it otherwise!

Now, my friend and I are staying the night in my grandma's guest house. We're gonna watch Avatar on my computer. :D So I probably won't be online tonight- this is the longest I've seen her since we went to see TMNT together last March!

Give my dragons some loving please! The paper one only has three days! ;_;

Today was actually a good day, surprisingly. I barely got any sleep, but it was still fun. Early this morning, we went and did some more janitorial work and ate lunch at Jack and the Box. I left the kittens in the care of my mother- apparently, they did a lot of playing today! You could definitely tell- besides when they go and do more playing, they're completely exhausted.

After some lazing about, we made a return trip to the movie theatre and saw The Incredible Hulk. I was so pleased! What a great movie! It was much better than the last one on so many playing fields. I loved all the in-jokes, such as the purple stretchy pants. XD

Not to mention, it gives further lead to the Avengers movie they're making. Any other comic fans reading this? Here's all the things I saw:

1. Mention of Nick Fury
2. Further involvement of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Stark Industries
3. Mention of the Super Soldiers program from WWII (and therefore- Captain America)
4. Appearance of Tony Stark
5. Tony's line about putting a team together

Exciting, isn't it? Well... if you're a superhero nut like me. XD

Anyways, upon leaving the theatre, the battery in our van died again. >.< Bummer! Only bad thing today.

We came home and ordered pizza; played with the kittens some more. And then I had a lovely discussion with [info]ivy_chan  and [info]lvsinsanity, my fellow villains in the TT RP. Oh, this is going to so awesome! :D

Now to finish that Casey audition...

Moving on. Here's a little meme I picked up from [info]engelina_c

1. Reply to THIS post, and I will select four or five of your userpics that I like.
2. Make a entry and talk about the icons I have chosen.
3. Other people will then comment on your entry and you will do the same as I have done for you.
4. Thus creating a NEVER ENDING of icon squee.

And there we have it!

Don't forget to clicky on the eggy!

I love this kittens to death, but I wish they weren't so clingy. (rubs arms and neck) Owwie!

They're obviously getting more comfortable, as they play around much more and get into things they shouldn't. XD Sometimes they play too rough with one another, though. Miso pushed Nara off of my bed just a little while ago. Poor thing!

Oh- and boy do they get dirty! We came home from seeing Hancock (good movie!) today and I found that they'd peed all over themselves. >.< So they had to get yet another bath. I'm not really happy about that- I don't want them getting sick, after all. :/

Right now they're sleeping, thankfully. That won't last long!

Moving on- look what I just got! I see everyone keeps snagging dragon eggs, so I decided to get another one too. I got a rare one. Everyone ooh and ahh!

Ugh. I hate Snow White. Why am I making a reference to it? (shakes head)

I went to Advanced Training today- the actual one! I didn't miss it! Yay! XD

Anyways, I learned some really cool stuff. I think I'll make better sales now. :D I also got my first promotion pin. It's pretty snazzy looking (though it has something on it I can't seem to get off).

Before I left, I asked about my paycheck though. Not the commission one, but my real paycheck. They send them out every Monday, so I was wondering if something had happened to mine. My boss told me if it wasn't there when I got home (which it wasn't) to tell him tomorrow and he'd get it taken care of. Hope to have my check soon- I owe mom money.

What else did I do today... Oh! Watched Kung Fu Panda online! What a great movie. ^_^ It's seriously the best animated film I've seen this year. Better than some of the last few years' too (biased as I am, I will always place TMNT ahead of all XD).

But yeah, I adored it. Highly rec it!

And now for a little update on my dragons. The other day, I tried to view them and the site was down, so I think they may be behind on some of the clicks and stuff. So if you wouldn't mind helping me out, please take a look at them!

Wahahaha- yay for me! I finally finished one of my RP Auditions (the villain one)!

It took like... three hours just to write. How pathetic, huh? >.<

But I'm done! :D I'm so happy! I sent it off to the main TT RPers. And now I pace, because I'm scared to death to find out what they think of it.

In other news, today my mother told me to just pick a date and we'll finally have my graduation party. Yes, I graduated back in September. But my stepdad refused to have a party until the Spring. Lame, huh? We have less money now.

I'm trying to come up with a good date. I have a huge family, and I want most of them to be able to come. Some live a bit aways, so I doubt they'd be able to come, but I'd like to have a far enoguh date that if they can make it, they'll be able to do so.

I also need to get in contact with my dad. He works on Saturdays, which is when I'd like to have mine, and despite our relationship lately, I'd like for him to be able to come.

Actually, I need to talk to him anyways. It's been... months. Same with my siblings, too. I miss them so much. ;_;

I talked to my grandma the other day. She told me that my little brother said that he cries sometimes when he thinks of me. I can imagine him saying that so easily... It breaks my heart.

(deep breath) I'll try to call tomorrow.

Also, today I went to see Iron Man. :D It wasn't that bad. I enjoyed it quite a bit, though I don't think it's the best movie of the year. I have high hopes for Indiana Jones and The Dark Knight. (rubs hands together).

While I was at the theatre, I asked about a job. Even if it's way out of my walking distance, I figured I may as well try. Was shut down, of course- they're not hiring. But I tried.

Okay. Time for another meme!

I actually found this with three people all at once ([info]half_elven, [info]silent_myriad, and [info]engelina_c). So I don't know how well I can answer some of the questions. But I'll do my best!

IF YOU'RE ON MY FRIENDS LIST, I want to know 36 things about you. I don't care if we never talk, if you're more of a lurker, or if we already know everything about each other.

BE HONEST! Answer the questions in your own journal.

And now I'm off to bed. Night!
