Working with CSS is surprising. All the stuff I thought I wouldn't get is simple, while the things I thought would be easy are becoming rather tedious.

Either way, my new layout is a work in progress. It's made by toledan_night, but I have been playing around with the colors, and a few other things. Not done yet. :D

In the mean time, if you and I are buddies on AIM, you may get linked to some weird questionaire thing by me. If this happens, just ignore the link. There's a spam meme going around.

It feels oddly nice not to do anything... At least today. Another day I'll worry about it more. But tonight, I just relaxed. Slept in (oh, how nice!). Read a lot of One Piece manga and watched a few episodes. Tried to find some good fanfic for it but turned up surprisingly little. What a shame. :( 

And finally, I got to chat with people! Oh, it was such a joyously large chat. I was quite happy. I need more of those. I miss chatting with people, and the randomness that ensues.

Also? My dryer works now. I did my own laundry! Huzzah! It took a bit to figure out how the washer works (which there was no sense in using until the dryer was fixed), but now I got it down. It was just quite different from the one I was used to.

I do want to do something a little more productive today. Maybe get some more things done around the place or write more on a one-shot or two. I tried working on that Naruto AMV I had planned, but the song I want to use has a beat I can't keep up with on WMM and is pretty short. To get everything I want in there, I would have to sum up several fight scenes in twenty seconds each and that's like... a let down, almost. Especially considering the arc. The viewer would barely have the time to process what happens.

I still want to make it, but am unsure how to go about it now. (sigh)

At least I have a good idea with what I want to do in my one-shots. Perhaps I'll have better luck with those.

You know, I find it oddly satisfying to watch Michael Phelps get his eighth Gold Medal at the Beijing Olympics. 

I hate sports, but I've always enjoyed the Olympics. And Phelps? He's amazing to watch, yes... but he also seems like a genuinely decent human being. And that is something. 

Back here in the US, they were showing what he's done for the kids. Ever since the Olympics started, they've been hitting the pool more. Everyone wants to be like Michael Phelps! Anyone who can get kids to do something like that- something good for them? That's wonderful, in my opinion.

What's not amazing? AIM. It's trying to kill me. Lately in group chats, when I try to post something, this happens:

And my comments won't show up. So annoying! I couldn't chat! ;_;

We're talking about the TMNT Anime. After the badfic I read today, I'm totally scarred for life now. XD

Good news though- I had a sale today! My cousin bought a hunting knife. Whoo!

 

First off, I am so sorry to those I was chatting with a little while ago! ;_; I went to watch the Men's Gymnastics Finals and lost track of time. I'll try and make it up to you guys... though I'm not sure how. >.<

Oh, got a call from the Digestive Health dudes today. We set up an appointment for early September. I could've had one tomorrow, but I didn't think mom could get off work on such short notice to do it. 

Today I could definitely tell the difference with how those pills are working. I forgot to take them after lunch and man, was my stomach killing me later. >.< I think this is the first time I've been grateful for pills. Unless you count when I had tonsilits and strep at the same time last year. 

It's really quite strange. These last two years I've noticed that I've gotten sick way more than I used to. And more than just colds too. I've had strep, tonsilitis (three times), a UTI, a yeast infection, the stomach flu, and was severely dehydrated. Now we have this. It's way crazy. Makes me worry about what I'm going to do when I turn nineteen and can't use dad's insurance anymore. :/

Okay. I was going to leave a nice post regarding how weird it is that I choose to listen to Baby Got Back on my way to a funeral. Or talk about some ideas for my graduation party.

But all of this is meaningless. All of it. Is this fact made clear? It's so worthless at the moment, because the news which I bear is so powerful that I can't even think to write of the other stuff.

This was my reaction to it. I was IM'ing with  angrychihuahuawhen I heard the news.

Well, it's official this time! Today's Sunday (in my time zone, anyways) and the voting booth for the Fanfiction Competition DOES close today, so if you haven't voted yet, now's your last chance!

I'm actually now a bit more happy that we reopened it. We've gotten eleven more ballots so far, so that does make things fair. But grr... My tiebreakers! (sniffles) Ruined!

Moving on- I've spent quite a bit of time discovering the joys of Instant Messaging. But this is a long story- allow me to begin.

That private site I mentioned had the most excellent April Fool's Day prank I've ever seen. It involved their RP- and really had me and several others going until it started turning into pure awesome crack. They also pranked me that day besides the RP; aware how frustrated I'd become over the Fanfic Comp, they wanted to cheer me up. And they sure did!

Anyways, back to the first prank. I must have been in four different places, talking about it like mad. In one spot, one of the player's dropped in, suspecting I might be talking about it and wanting to see. We got talking, about the RP, and I mentioned something regarding that I wouldn't be surprised if Casey Jones showed up in their prank (which at that point I still thought was weird but actually happening in the plot) to catch Don and April going at it.

She mentioned that they actually didn't have a Casey player, as of yet. And that I could audition if I was interested.

Needless to say, I was floored. This RP is made of awesome... to join it would be amazing. 

I was told though that first I'd probably need an AIM- many of the players spend a lot of time chatting through this, so it'd be necessary. With much help from whiteadelphi, I was able to procure one. I spent the next day IM'ing with two of the main players, and subsequently nearly all of them since. I have had such fun- they're all really nice. I've gotten spoilers for some of the best fics out there in the fandom, and they also heard out some of my ideas for my own stories. 

I was constantly floored as well. They all seem to think of me so highly- I couldn't believe it! It was wonderful news for me.

And best of all, I got approval to audition for the Casey part in their RP. I cannot begin to describe how happy I am- not to mention nervous! I hope I do well- to audition, I must write a story featuring him so that the other players can get a feel for how I would write him. If they approve, I can play. If not- at least I tried! Not to mention, I made good friends!

Speaking of fanfiction, I have developed a plan to help dig myself out of my writer's block. Let's face it- I'm not getting anything done. It's simply not working. So I have decided that from here on out, at least until I have my muse back, to focus on only one story at a time. I'm going to finish Cork first, then move onto Infection. After those two are done, I can officially undertake my biggest project yet: a series that fully explains what lead to the events seen in the episode Same As It Never Was.

I plan to work on Edge of Calamity, any one-shots I may have, and a possible alternate ending to Cork as the mood strikes. 

I really hope I can finally get something done. I haven't really done anything fanfiction wise for a while now.
