Okay. So I don't think I've been very good on keeping this journal up to date on the people I work with. Which is surprising, considering I was so very happy with one change (still squeals about it). So here's a brief overview.

Kathy was sent to go on the remodel team to another town. Thus she shan't be seen for three wonderful months. We were all very happy. :D

Few weeks later, Michael left for some militairy training. However, he got medically discharged, which I hear is really depressed him. He should be back soon, but I'm not sure when.

Then yesterday I came to work to find out that Aaron injured himself somehow last night and now he has to go be a people greeter for a week. We've also heard rumor that he won't be able to come back to the ICS at all, but I'm still waiting for that to clear up.

Nevertheless, it really screwed up our team. We had four people last night, didn't get to any picks, and Jen and I had to deal with claimsing four buckets of paint. Took us an hour, which we now have to kill tonight.

That works out pretty badly for Patrick and Paul, who are the only other ones working with us tonight. Four people again, seeing as Billy has this week off since he had to go out of state to get his car back. UGH. The only day this week where we're actually going to have more than four people is on Monday. I'm going to be so very sore. I so need a raise.

All righty. So onto that stuff I said I'd do! First thing up is that little fic of mine. Like I said, it won this week over at [info]avatar_contestmuch to my surprise. I'll let you guys be the judges.

Title: Foot Notes

Characters: Toph, Katara

Rating: PG

Warnings: Post-Series, but not in a spoilerish way.

Word Count: 239

Summary: There's not many reasons Toph would blind herself by wearing shoes.

This stinks--I can't even see three feet in front of me. )

And now to pimp some fic that isn't mine.

Muah, I love crossovers. Well-done crossovers, mind you. Any author who can successfully blend two (or more!) universes together convincingly is brilliant in my book.

So I pretty much jumped at the chance when [info]ivy_chanhad a meme in which she'd drabble fic two characters from different series.

I'm, uh, a very selfish requester indeed, Heheh- five requests from me. But I gots them! And they all turned out very, very beautifully. Which is to be expected. As this is Ivy.

Anyways! So just in case no one else saw them, I'm pimping them out to this small crowd here.

First up is a TMNT/Justice League one, in which Mikey meets The Flash. Then we have a most gorgeous TMNT/Avatar one with Leo and Zuko. Third is Naruto/Avatar with Sakura and Katara. Fourth is a TMNT/Naruto one, with Shikamaru and Splinter and it is most awesome. And finally another Naruto/Avatar drabble, this time featuring Hinata and Toph.

GO READ. Awesomeness demands it. :D

Oh yes. And now it is Youtube Friday!

So I went on Youtube the other day, as usual, when something in the Video Suggestions caught my eye. You see- I've never bothered looking for a Deadpool AMV. He's never been in a cartoon/movie long enough to make an AMV out of, so I never thought I'd find anything. Naturally, I was sure there'd be some pic ones, but ones like that that include attention to detail vs. random image are hard to find.

This one had my attention though. Comic image. Now I have seen some really neat AMV's done using comic images, so I clicked the little linky and watched the vid. And I enjoyed it very much. :3

If anyone chooses to watch this, this comic is almost like his origin. Weapon X did their stuff, considered him a failed experiment, and after a string of events he ended up where you see him here. "King of the Deadpool", after all the near-death experiences he goes through he begins to see Death and falls in love with her (kid you not) and the two plot for him to die so they can be together.

My days have been rather strange lately. First we have five days a week which completely wear me down to Pi-shaped jello but at least provide me with some form of social behavior. Then we have my two day weekend which provides me with the much needed relaxation (when I actually get it, mind you) but goes way too damn fast for me to relax, thus usually ends up consisting of me spending around thirty-two hours feeling generally very lonely and trying to make myself realize that I will always be this social recluse and should therefore just give up and admit it already.

This is the norm. I state it because the past two days (my weekend) deviated from this pattern, for the most part.

Started out basic enough. 'Cept this time I got to sleep in, which I haven't been able to do for a while because of driver's ed (I'm in the second class now, and therefore no longer have to repeat the classroom setting). Woke up, played around the house for a bit. And then I decided I wanted to treat myself. Do something nice outside the house, yatta yatta. So I called the local movie theatre to see what was playing.

Turns out one of the two movies was Star Trek, and I figured I should see it soon before someone at work spoiled it for me. Like my situation last time I tried to see a movie here, there was but one showtime. Conflicted with meeting schedules, but as I don't really skip those unless work has me so tired I can't move to get up and go, I figured it couldn't hurt.

Plans made, I then spent the next hour or so debating whether or not I should tell my Grandma. These kind of conversations can get rather irritating and I was in no mood for one. In the end though, I decided to call her. Only polite to let her know not to pick me up, right?

Sometimes I really hate having a conscience. Nine times out of ten, it leads me to doing something that should be the wise course of action  but actually just ends up with me very upset.

Naturally this was one of those times. Grandma was pissed, I was pissed with her accusations, and I looked like a schizo when I ranted about it to myself on the way to the theatre.

That wasn't the good part about my weekend. No worries- it got better this time.

As I'd left pretty early, before the movie I stopped in at a supply store. In the back they has baby ducks and chicks. They were all very fuzzy and cute and tiny and made me feel all warm inside. And that kinda set the mood.

Went to see Star Trek. It was made of awesome.

Spoilers: The Final Frontier! )
The trailers were also pretty sweet. Second time seeing the one for the new Transformers movie, and it continues to look awesome. I was surprised with the GI Joe one though. Man, I'm so behind! I had no idea that one was coming out so soon! It too looked really neat. :D

Anyways, went home and [info]ivy_chan gave me crossover goodness! This entry is long enough as is, so I'll explain my love for crossovers and provide links to each drabble she did tomorrow. Trust me though- they're brilliant.

Okay, so yeah. That was day one. I ended it in a much better mood. Relaxed, went to bed, etc.

Today I woke up earlier than I'd have liked, but I went out in service with my friend, her cousin, and his wife (they're a young couple, very nice). I went to a door with the cousin and met a very nice man who used to be a contractor. He'd bought this old house and was restoring it. We had a nice discussion with him, but it was kinda new for me. I think that was the first time I was ever invited so quickly into someone's home without anyone saying anything besides the fact that we're Jehovah's Witnesses. Exciting, but like with many other religious activities, it made me nervous. I think he could tell too. Gotta work on that. >.<

Still! Good experience!

When service was done, I went home for a bit but was actually invited with my friend to the aforementioned couple's home. They had barbecue chicken and homemade potato salad (I don't like potato salad usually. And I hate mustard, which this family uses a lot of. But holy crap, I'll be damned if tha wasn't the best potato salad I've ever had) and chips with homemade dip (cucumber and cream cheese- again, it was delicious). To top it off, my friend made apple pie from scratch while we were there. Oh my... so gooooood.

We ate it while watching one of the cousin's favorite movies, Galaxy Quest. I actually hadn't seen this movie for a very long time. I could only remember one part acutally, but I remember thinking the rest was really stupid. It wasn't, surprisingly. It was actually pretty damn funny! And ah- kindered spirits with the fanboys. XD

Nextly, I won this week's fic contest at [info]avatar_contest . I wasn't expecting it all so it was a pleasant surprise. I actually didn't post my fic here because I wasn't impressed by it, but since it won I will. Er... another thing I'll do tomorrow when I wake up. I is tired.

Last but not least for my good weekend- some of my Deadpool comics have finally shown up. I have read The Circle Chase, Sins of the Past, and the first issue of his 1997 solo series. I have the next nine issues plus an annual in another book, but I'm saving them for the rest of the week. Seriously though- this is love.

If anyone's interested, I've found scans of the first issue online. Say the word and I'll provide linkage.

Come onnnn. You know you want it. :D

Man, I've been working on that for days. Every time I seemed to remember it was right before work, so I'd only be able to finish parts. My bad. >.>

Anyways, my Avatar fic didn't win this weeks [info]avatar_contest, but [info]ivy_chan's did. And as Ivy is awesome and her fic awesome, I am in no way disappointed.

Oh. And I wrote a drabble thingy for my anniversary fic.

Title: Shelf Space
Rating: PG
Word Count: 105
Fandom: TMNT
Characters: Leo
Summary: It's a drabble. A summary would leave nearly nothing to read. >.<

There's a book read for nearly every moment in his life stored in his room )

I so totally cheated. The fifty sentence prompts I've been doing now hates me for stealing one of the sentences (and breaking it into two) and making a drabble out of it. Alas, now I shall have to change it.

>.>

<.<

So. I did it. I wrote my little ficlet and got it in before the deadline. Was late to work, but I did it. Muah!

Now to just see how it goes over. This is the longest thing I've written in months, so there's at least that. Also? First fic I've written that isn't a TMNT story. That's right- I went outside of my comfort zone fandom, and wrote an Avatar fic. ...About a minor character. What the hell. XD

Anyways, originally I was gonna have [info]whiteadelphi</lj> beta it for me before I put it up. It was written for a contest (at [info]avatar_contest</lj>), and I thought the deadline was Saturday. Figured that'd give me enough time to finish it and send it off to her before putting it up.

Then [info]ivy_chan</lj> informed me that no, the deadline was Friday.

Pi: O_O Oh shiiiiiit...

So yeah. Long story short, this is unbeta'd, and I don't know if it's any good or not. ^_^; I'm rusty, methinks.

P.S. I tried to give as many clues as possible to the identity of a certain person therein. 'Tis no one ever named in the series, but if you can't guess who just ask and I'll tell you. :)

Title: That Path
Author: Pi90katana
Prompt: Week #37, ‘flesh’
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1570 words
Characters: Longshot, Jet
Summary: What happened at Lake Laogai.

Where will you let that path lead you? )

Man, I am so tired and sore. I have absolutely no idea why, either. Work yesterday wasn't very hard and pretty uneventful, yet I was limping by the end. I went to bed on time, but was exhausted when I woke up.

It's not even all that much better today. And heck, we didn't even have a truck! I have no idea what's wrong with me.

I am pretty grateful though for there being no truck. Yes, I was assigned the most boring tasks ever instead, but at least it was easy going. Seriously- you can't get much more 'easy' then scraping paint. >.<

Got more exciting though towards the end. I was thankfully interrupted in my duties by Cherri, wearing gloves, wheeling in a shopping cart filled with random items. All of which, including the cart, were spattered with blood.

And so began the mystery of the Bleeding Shoplifter!

Why shoplifter, you say? Well, it's pretty obvious. Were this a regular customer, surely they'd have approached someone for help, right? But if they were stealing something, or had perhaps injured themselves in the process of stealing something, they wouldn't tell, would they?

So anyways, in the process of helping Cherri bag and tag the bloody items (which only she, as she was wearing the gloves, could touch), I started theorizing on what had happened by considering the evidence:

First is the cart. It was found in automotive, containing a twelve pack of Coca-Cola, a box of Cheez-Its, lightbulbs, a surge protector, printer paper, air filters, a windshield brush, wiper fluid for RV's, an open box of medical tape, and an open box of gauze.

Secondly, a trail of blood was found in Toys leading to Automotive (they're next to one another).

Point 1- The amount of blood was fairly large, with the majority ending up in the basket of the cart and down the front of it, though the inside and the items therein were spattered as well. This most likely point to the injury being in the hand and/or fingers.
Subpoint A- The blood seemed to be located mostly on the left side of the cart, but there were no handprints. Whichever hand was injured was likely held over the cart and the items inside of it to make sure as little as possible hit the floor. It's probable that due to the location, the injured hand is the left one.
Point 2- The open medical supplies were very bloodied, implying that the culprit bandaged himself.
Subpoint A- Unless he came in with the inentions of injuring himself, the chances of him having the medical supplies before the incident are extremely low. Thus it is most likely that he got these items afterwards.
Subpoint B- No blood was found in HBA, however (which is on the other side of the store). This seems to indicate he had someone get him the items after he was injured.
Point 3- As everything was found in automotive, it's most likely that he chose that area to tend to his injury- likely because it's far more secluded than most areas of the store.
Subpoint A- The bathrooms would have been a better choice, obviously, and are right next to toys. However, the area in front of the bathrooms was roped off so maintenance could wax the floors there. Unable to get in there, auto would be the next best choice, and the trail of blood leading to it from toys supports that this is what he did.
Point 4- Judging from the items in the cart, the accident likely happened in the right, upper quarter of the store. This area includes the Toys, Furniture, and Automotive departments.
Subpoint A- The five departments with the most stolen items in our store are as follows: Electronics, Cosmetics, Pharmacy, Toys, and Dry Grocery. Considering this along with the point above likely means that the stolen item was either from electronics (which is next to toys), or a toy.
Subpoint B- The only toy items that could set the alarm off are behind glass, which was not touched. Thus it's more likely that he was after something in electronics.
Subpoint C- Besides the printer paper, we found nothing in the cart from electronics. Most likely he took the item out of the store with him, despite leaving everything else behind.

I'm half-tempted to throw in that he likely has access to an RV at the moment, but as I'm merely trying to figure out what happened in the store and not who this guy is, it's irrelavent to my case.

So why am I posting this here? Well, just for fun really. I'm putting what I've learned about profiling to good use am am curious to see if I'm right. Tomorrow, when security gets on the clock, they'll be looking over these tapes. This stuff will probably be mentioned in a meeting, at which point most of these points will have answers. We'll find out then! :D

Anyways, in the meantime, here's some ficcage. Both or these are the auditions I was talking about. You need no knowledge of the RP they're for to read.

Oddly enough, today was a harder work day than the one before it. I had been so dreading Black Friday, but the worst thing to happen to me that day was when my foot got ran over by a cart. Hurt muchly, but is better now. The actual work though was simple. We finished the truck by our first break (O.O Whoo!) and got the back room looking spotless.

This, of course, was because management told us to take out every pallet of overstock. Why yes, the stockers did hate us that night. But as we were too busy pulling pallets, they lacked the time to rip our heads off and sacrifice our intestines to the devil. ^_^

What was really awesome was what went down about an hour before it was time to go. Management, when in a good mood, are about the funniest people ever. Usually we have two managers at night- one assistant and a support.

Aaron and Joe had told our support manager that the fork lift was out of propane. All of management (as well as leads like Cheri) have walkies they use to communicate with each other, but when they couldn't get the assistant manager on it, the support manager paged for him over the intercom. The result was pure awesome (note: Support manager = S and Assistant manager = A).

S: Attention all associates: Assistant Manager A, please dial Receiving.
A: Attention all associates: Support Manager S, please dial Garden.
S: (counts to five before paging again) Will the associate asking for Support Manager S please repeat last page.
A: (ten seconds later) Associate asking for the repeat of last page... please repeat last page.
S: ...I give up. You win.
A: Thank you.

Heehee... loved it.

As mentioned though, today was much harder. We were down people, had a bigger load, and everyone was tired. I dread tomorrow- half of the people there today will be on their days off now.

That said, I should probably go to sleep. Tomorrow, I'll post the new little ficlet I wrote here to my LJ. It be short and kinda without plot, but it's something. And something complete, at that. XD

I... I'm actually working on Cork! Without forcing myself! Truly this is a marvelous day. While I must go to bed now, I'm also looking forward to working on it some more tomorrow. With any luck, perhaps I'll have an update soon! :D

Very Short Snippet of Proof  )

Yeah, I know that seems random and all, but if I threw in the rest, it'd spoil too much. Makes more sense from there on, though! ^_^;

Anyways, has anyone else seen that article in Entertainment News International with an interview with Peter Laird? I stumbled upon it today and am getting a little excited!

Quoting:

ENI: Recently there have been rumors flying around about another TMNT feature film in the works? Is that true? If so will it be CGI or live-action and why the decision to do one or the other?

Peter: Since the 2007 "TMNT" movie, we have been talking about doing a fifth film. We are currently VERY close to signing a deal to do a new film, and if it happens, the current thinking is to have it be a live action/CGI "hybrid", which is to say that the Turtles and Splinter (and possibly some other characters which we've yet to introduce) would be rendered very realistically in CGI, while everything else would be filmed in live action.

As long as they don't use suits again, I won't mind too much. Though I think it's much harder to recast actors than it is voices. (nod) However, live action has the potential of making a movie more serious, I think, so that could be a plus! :D

Now for a quizzy found via [info]silent_myriad. By the way? This picture accompanying it is freaking gorgeous. I want. Though I question parts of the results.

Non-conformist, Visionary, and Independent

Abstract art uses a visual language of form, color and line to create a composition which exists independently of what may appear to others as visual realities. Western had been underpinned by the logic of perspective and an attempt to reproduce an illusion of visible reality. It allowed the progressive thinking artists to show a different side to the world around them. By the end of the 19th century many artists felt a need to create a 'new kind of art' which would encompass the fundamental changes taking place in technology, science and philosophy. Abstract artists created art that was diverse and reflected the social and intellectual turmoil in all areas of Western culture.

People that chose abstract art as their preferred artform tend to be visionsaries. They see things in the world around them and in people that others may miss because they look beyond what is visual only with the eye. They rely on their inner thoughts and feelings in dealing with the world around them instead of on what they are told they should think and feel. They feel freed from the tendancy to be bound by traditional thought and experiences. They look more toward their own ideas and experiences than what they are told by their religious upbringing or from scientific evidence. They tend to like to prove theories themselves instead of relying on the insight or ideas of others. They are not bound by common and mundane, but like to travel and have new experiences. They value intelligence, but they also enjoy a challenge. They can be rather argumentative when they are being forced or feel as if they are being forced to conform.

As I wait for my torrent of the third season of TMNT to download (RARGH! It was all going great until a few days ago!), I thought I'd go catch up on some fic over at FF.net.

I found this. And while it's not plagarism, I think it's safe to say that this guy read mine first, yes?

Firstly, let's take a look at my poem.

Death of a Candle by Pi90katana.

And now his/her's.

Dimming Candles by raphaeltoughness.

For the hell of it, I'm throwing in their summary because it really keys in the whole 'it was my idea first!' thing.

Leo's thoughts of Dieing Candles. To me its sad. Thank God candles don't have feelings. Its poetry.

While I'm positive I'm not the first to come up with candles dying (obviously), it just seems unlikely to me that they got this idea all on their own. Considering they'e both poems and they both have Leo as the main character. And that this author has faved me.

I'm glad I wasn't plagarized, at least, though it is a bit irritating to see it. I suppose on some level I should be flattered. ^_^;

It's so strange. These past few days, I've been feeling really good about myself. Happy, and content, and with a good outlook for the future. I haven't felt like this since I was much younger. It's been years. And for the first time, I feel on the brink of actually breaking away from everything that's hurt me from that same time. Like the piece of glass that's finally coming free of the skin, it's finally starting to seem less painful.

I know I'm not entirely free from it yet. In fact, I'll probably still walk around with it in my foot for years to come. But you know... it's like it's finally starting to come loose. And that's awesome.

But knowing it's still there is keeping me from fully celebrating. I mean, it could get jammed back in there, for all I know.

At least for now, though, I'm happy. I went to the meeting today and for once seemed like I got something out of it. I went the whole day without blowing up at anyone. It's great.

I better enjoy it while it lasts though. If I get this job, the next few days will be really stressful, I'm sure. ^_^

Anyways, here's a meme I first saw done by [info]ivy_chan. I didn't do it at first because I didn't think I had that many stories.

Well lo and behold, I looked today and saw that I do, in fact. I think I forgot to count the one-shots. Heheh. Anyways, enjoy! I decided to exclude poems, by the way. Just seemed easier.

Post the first lines from your last 25 stories. Do you see any patterns?"

OMFG- I sucked three years ago ;_; )

Now for the things I noticed. (takes deep breath)

-Oh dear God, I sucked ass at writing when I was younger! ;_; (runs around in circles) I'm sorry! Forgive meeeee! I was fourteen- I didn't know how to properly start a sentence, much less write an actual story and make it good! (continues blubbering)
- ...For being a Leo fan, a disturbing number of my stories mention Raphael in the first sentence. O.o
- In my first year of writing, my sentences tended to start off as statements or nods to location.
- In my second year, I did a lot with sensory input.
- In my third year, I went from writing short and to-the-point sentences to long and action-wordy ones.

See anything else I missed? Point it out! Oh- and clicky on the dragon, please. :3

Adopt one today!
