Card refused at store
People can be difficult
Stick with cartoons, Pi

My, what a long day. Roleplaying gave me a bit of headache, though I imagine mine isn't nearly as bad as others. We'll leave it at that though.
In the middle of our session, I took a break to go up to Wal*Mart for some cheese. I had twenty bucks, but I wanted to save that for next week's lunch so I attempted to use my debit card. It was refused though, which is really weird. I have money in the bank, and I used that card on Monday to buy a bookshelf. (scratches head)
In the mean time, I continue to overdoes on anime, comics, and fanfic. I have three pages of One Piece faves in Word. Only titles. I am considering creating a little journal to keep track of them all, with heavy tagging and everything so I could find it all again. And then proceed to do the same with fic from other fandoms.
Fanfiction, you are my drug.
I also want to make a shitload of icons and imagine them as I work. With both anime and manga and comic images.
Speaking of the manga bit, I know I mentioned I've learned how to color them now. Anyone got a manga scene they'd love to see colored and iconned? Will do for both One Piece and Naruto as practice.
Yesterday was truly 3vil. I must find out the reason why all of the bigger trucks come on days when we're lacking bodies to unload it properly.
Also, I need to find the guy who drives the GM trucks on Sunday and shoot him.
The man didn't center it properly, like the Sunday truck last week. I figure it must be the same driver, though I could be wrong. Anyways, for this reason we couldn't get the ramp up and thus had no choice but to pull the line over the gap and be wary of it as we unloaded. We had very little help and thus were only three quarters of a way in before we had to go to lunch.
When we came back, management had arrived personally to assist, as they usually do when we get behind like this. Paul was coming out of the truck to work the line when he lost his footing and fell on his back- the back that had been giving him problems all freaking night. >.<
His foot was caught in the gap there, and his ankle was turning purple mighty quick. We already had management back there, so they took care of him and everything. After he left, we were back to unloading with about the same number of people as before. Finished a little bit late, but the stockers were sent back to take out pallets, so we weren't put behind any further than that, thankfully.
So now I'm getting ready for work again. And I'm half-wishing that my ceiling will cave in or something so I'll be too injured to go. I don't think Paul will be there, because of what happened yesterday. Really hope he's okay :(. But with him gone, it'll be just Kathy, Joe, and I. In case you don't understand the full horror of this, allow me to explain.
In unloading a truck, there are two roles that must be filled no matter what. You need to have someone to throw the truck, and you need to have a scanner for electronical devices and such.
Pi happens to be too short to successfully throw the truck without aid. Joe happens to be the most awesome thrower person ever. Therefore, Joe shall be throwing the truck.
Pi is not trained on the device used to scan in the electronics. Kathy happens to be one of the three ICS associates that is. Therefore, Kathy will be the scanner,
In conclusion, this leaves Pi with the best job of all... the task of palletizing all of the freight that comes down the line.
...This is going to suck.
I'm counting on management sending help back there, but you never know. Really, really hope they do.
In the mean time, here's that fic I promised to post.
( They get to do the see-ing, and he's left with saw-ing... )
Alas, I have been tagged by
How about a brief introduction for yourself?
Um... Hi. I'm Pi90katana, or just Pi, if you'd like. I'm from Idaho, just turned eighteen last month, and unemployed. If I were paid for being a TMNT fan, that last part wouldn't be a problem.
Fabulous! And what got you into fanfiction to begin with?
Well, if we're talking actual fanfiction and not the random imagining of an eight-year-old, then it was quite by accident. I was at my grandmother's house, using her computer. And I'd done a great many TMNT searches that day, so I'd moved on to my second favorite show at the time- Teen Titans. I typed that into the search engine, looking speifically for Raven, and somewhere on the first page I found a fanfic. I'd had no idea people did that, though I often imagined plot ideas myself. I became hooked to the site. In two weeks I learned that there was a little drop down menu that let you move onto other chapters (because I was an idiot at fourteen and never noticed these things), and I went back and read all of my favorite Teen Titans stories. I'd looked for TMNT fics, but I hadn't seen a category for them, as I'd always looked for it in the T section. Then one day I scrolled too far down and saw it- Ninja Turtles! It's been listed under 'N'! I went mad, reading like crazy, skipping class to do it, etc. After three months I decided I wanted to write too and made my own account.
I see, so what kind of fanfiction do you like to write?
S'all TMNT, baby. I make my own little plots in my head for other things I like (Avatar: The Last Airbender, Justice League, Maximum Ride), but TMNT is the only one that makes it to a readable format.
Do you find writing easy? Hard? What are the most difficult aspects of writing you struggle with?
It just depends on my mood. I used to be able to update something weekly. Now I've updated one fic in November and wrote a one-shot in December. Problem here! Motivation kills me. And somethings writing certain characters I'm not good with but whom are necessary to the plot (Splinter, April, Shredder- if I ever write him)
Write a few sentences or so of your favorite pairing or character.
O.o Huh? Like, a few sentences about them or something they've said? Ah screw it, moving on. But so I don't feel I've completely neglected the question, Leonardo if my favorite character from TMNT.
Are there any fan fiction clichés or trends you're sick of or just can't stand?
Um... nearly everything that comes up on FF.net these days? Any of the turtles being rapists- Raph in particular. Wimp!Don, Baby!Mikey, Boring!Leo, Stupid!Casey, etc. I hate genderbender fics; CREE-PY. All the freaking girls that fall into the sewers that develop love interests with the author's favorite turtle. Are people just leaving the sewer lids off or something? And why is it that a guy never finds himself there?
Are you guilty of any fanfiction clichés you hate? Or any other ones?
Hmm... It may be possible. My earlier stuff had an Emo!Leo. I hate the fic (and it's sequel >.<) now, but even so, I don't think I went entirely overboard.
What was the first fandom you wrote for, and do you still like/participate in it?
TMNT. And hell yeah I still write in it! And I don't like it; I freaking love it, m-kay?
Name your OTPs or most frequently written pairings/characters and explain what it is about them that you love to write.
I don't really have OTP's. With romances, I pretty much like to think in canon terms. My most frequently written character, however, would of course be Leo. I think all of my multi-chaptered fics but one have had him as the main character. I'll write about the others more through one-shots, though even then Leo typically winds up with some nice angst.
What would you call your writing "style"?
This is difficult. It's changed a lot since I was fourteen. My earlier stuff was more like... Interesting plot, but plot development was very quick and kept fairly short. I wrote a lot of cliffhangers, so it was suspenseful. Pulse was the first fic to change my style. I got better at plotting, yet kept the suspense (it was a horror fic- that's required), and I also learned to foucs on other characters. It became more action-orietned at that point. Infection was similar, though it had me researching things for the sake of fiction. Now things have backing when I tell the reader to accept it XD. And Cork... What can I say about that one? It's currently my actual writing style. Dark, intense, pretty detailed. Much more action than ever before. And then my one-shots, of course. They, as always, remain very tragic. Unless I'm working with chibis.
Do you read other people's fanfic? If so, what do you find yourself reading the most?
I think I've read more fanfic than anyone else I know. I love a good angst, amd I'm a sucker for thrillers. Tragedy's good too; some comedy. Just about everything, really.
Do you have trouble taking criticism? Or worse yet, do you have the dreaded bloated ego?
Not so much. I actually love good concrit, as I haven't gotten it in years. There's really only one thing that will make me shut a critiquer down- when they insult my intelligence by saying that they know more about me on a particular subject and that I'm completely wrong even though I've researched it into the ground and have the evidence to back myself up. I don't appreciate that- it's a good way to piss me off. I can accept there are things I may not know on a subject, and if it's pointed out in a non-snob-like manner, I'll be happy to hear it.
When you write, is there anything that helps? Music? Quiet room?
For some reason, writing at night really helps me. Or afternoon. I can't write well in the mornings, though. Well, sorta- for example, I stay up laye into the wee hours of the day. But as soon as the sun comes up, Pi shuts down. Music can help from time to time, though sometimes i just wind up listening to it and not writing. I find it better for when I'm plotting. It also used to be that playing a card game like Hearts of Solitaire on my computer would help me get ready for writing. And I have to be alone. I hate people reading what I'm writing as I'm doing it.
What inspires you?
So many things. Music, a good story, television, the list goes on. Hell, Cork was written because I was involved in a discussion that started out as a bunch of fangirls realizing that they were sadists because we enjoy hearing Leo scream in the new movie!
Lastly, how would you sum up your fanfiction experiences and yourself as a writer?
Pretty damn cool. I have improved so much in my writing because of this. And I think my fanfiction, and the identity I have made for myself with it, is the only avenue in my life where I have a achieved some respect.
Tag six friends because they'll hate you for it.
I tag:
Ack! Never again will I post so many stories in one day! I've been lazy; I'd planned to go through all of my old fics and choose a couple, putting one up on
Big mistake! It took forever to proof them all!
The good news is, from now on everything I put up there will be new. Yay! Maybe I can get some fics done!
If anyone would like to see these fics, here are the links. I'd have put them here, but when I tried, I got about three in before my journal started being uncooperative.
The Doorknob
The Definition of Failure
Moonlight and Sonshine
Heartache
Avalon
Owls and Continents
I'm too young to be the mature one. And hell, I'm not mature at all to start with. I just don't know what to so sometimes...
Oh... and I think I said too much somewhere regarding things I'd like to do. I probably freaked a lot of people out. Sucky thing about being insane.
Anyways... I guess I can say something good. I joined the
I'm starting off by adding the stories I've already written. Just my better one-shots, of course. So maybe like... four. Then everything will be new.
Here's the one I posted just a little bit ago.
Title: What Never Happened
Characters: Raphael, April (some Leo)
Prompt: #61 - Winter
Word Count: 2,895
Rating: PG-13
Author's Notes: I wrote this last year. On Stealthy Stories, we were challenged to write a story where Raph wasn’t the seducer in a love interest... and I'd been thinking about Tales of Leo at the time. I figure this fits for the prompt nicely as it takes place in the Winter. Enjoy!

I'm really hoping tomorrow will be a better day. But I don't have high hopes.
