I am obviously having a horrible case of cycling through by Bipolar again. It's going so fast I can't quite keep a good hold on it, which is frustrating because it hasn't been this bad since high school. Yeah- I'm annoyed.

-

Kathy should like, go fall off the face of the Earth or something. Along with all of the people like her. THE WORLD WOULD BE SUCH A BETTER PLACE.

-

People also need to stop being so sensitive. I can not be snippy with you if I've spoken less than two sentences all day. Wanna complain to management to me about that? Fine. Someday I'll just be telling them about how you spend twenty minutes or more talking to people every time you take out a pallet.

-

New Toshiba laptop- ALL IS FORGIVEN. Okay, LJ still looks kinda weird and cropping is as weird as I thought it'd be, but HOLY CRAP you're so much speedier than my old laptop! Downloading Photoshop always took at least four hours, but with you I had it in twenty minutes! (loves on)

-

I picked up Brook from One Piece at a RP here on LJ. I had to drop Agent Bishop at the TT one due to stress and time issues, but this one has a bit of a slower pace. I'm having so much fun, though. I can tell I need to work on him some, though. I don't think I'm doing too horribly though (I hope...?), so there's at least that. :D

-

I miss my mother. And even my stepdad, sometimes. I'm afraid of talking to most other people. I've been thinking about moving back with them for a few months- I could transfer to another Walmart and save up some money. Without bills, I'd be able to help them out some too.

Not going to happen until at least January though (I'm sticking around for the bonus check at my Walmart, kthnx). We'll see if I'm still up for it by then.

-

One of my icons won first place at this week's [info]op_ic icontest! I was so surprised! I've gotten several of the Mod's Choice awards, and last time I got a third place, but never a first! On top of that, one of my other icons won for the Special Category (Best Crop), so I am pleased. ^_^

-

Because of the events of last year where the Walmart worked got trampled to death on Black Friday, Walmart will be open all day on Thanksgiving now. So we don't get half days off now.

Sometimes customers disgust me. In addition to the absolute horror of how selfish some of those people acted at that store when the poor guy died, now they get rewarded with having more time to shop. On top of that, we have to work with them longer while they're at their worst. WTF.

-

Watched Ice Age 3 finally. Ah, I loved the first one. None of the sequels have been on the same level, but at least they're still entertaining. As for this one- BUCK. He made the movie, I swear.

Manny: Just when exactly did you lose your mind?
Buck: About three months ago. I woke up married to a pineapple. An ugly pineapple. *sighs happily* But I loved her so...

-

I locked myself out of my house today. After having no luck picking the lock, I remembered that one of the windows was open and decided to try and open it. Unfortunately, as I was pushing up against it, I stumbled and ended up breaking the glass and cutting myself open while I was at it. It's very annoying to have your hands covered in blood and no way to wash them off for an hour. Besides how much colder they get in this weather, it's worse when you're trying very hard not to get blood all over your neighbor's door.

I cleaned it as best as I could though, and I have some nice thick bandaids. It was only a tiny cut, just deep and fairly wide. If I don't keep the bandaids on, whenever I go to grab something it splits right back open and that is getting really annoying really fast. If it doesn't stop doing that by tomorrow I'm just going to superglue it.

Also, the broken window sucks and will probably cost more than a locksmith would have (fifty bucks). I AM BROKE. I have to call the landlord tomorrow, but I'm hoping he'll let me wait until I get paid next to do it.

Last night Kathy made work a living hell. It was so bad that I was finally driven to seriously complain about her to management, but I couldn't even articulate properly. Just... RAGE. The woman needs to be fired.

Rant, rant, rant )

(deep breath) Still kinda angry. But HA. She's not here tonight. ^_^

Ah, Youtube Friday time. Seizure warning on this one, people. But it's very pretty. :D

Today's truck was less than a 100o pieces and we had help. Feet, you aren't allowed to hurt me as much as you are over something like that. Save it for tomorrow with it's 2600 piece truck, okay?

...Seriously. How hard can it be to split a truck up? They could've put about six hundred pieces onto today's truck to even out tomorrow's load, you know?

Ah well. At least today was easy, though it seems we're permanently down to six ICS team members. I guess Paul returned while I was gone only to get hurt again. They have him people greeting right now (I'm surprised he hasn't killed any customers yet, actually), but it's very unlikely he'll be returning to us. ;_;

Better yet, Billy's officially on his new three-days-a-week schedule. He's told management that if they make him lead, he'll be able to quit his other job and work full time here, but they seem fairly content with just having him in charge without the actual title.

To get to the point- this means that unless this changes, I am permanently in charge of our team on Sundays and Wednesdays. ...Yay responsibility? What am I saying- responsibility freaking sucks when you can't get anything done. >.<

Er, despite my complaining, again I state that today was a good day. Because inventory happened a few days ago, picks have been really high, so the lady who works in softlines (I usually do her picks) was estatic to see me- so much so that she even hugged me. The assistant manager was also happy to see me back and called me the 'Pick All-Star' in front of several people.

I should not beam like an idiot for being the best at a relatively simple task. It's basically a combination of a treasure hunt and matching game, only a level up. Once you learn how to work the devices we use and get used to how the bins work, it's really easy.

Heheh... okay. So perhaps I make it an art form. (let's praise go to head)

Topic change ahoy!

I come home from work to find my net problem has worsened. This is irritating because the past few days it was actually getting better. Now, however, I am having a lot of difficulty simply opening Internet Explorer. It took me thirty minutes this time!

I did start running a full scan on my computer courtesy of Microsoft, but it's taking a really long time. I'm at fifteen percent and it's been running for three hours. I was thinking about leaving my computer on to let it finish, but I don't know what good it will do. I searched a little more and wound up stumbling upon a forum where a guy has what appears to be the exact same problem. The only difference I can see actually is that he has XP and I have Vista.

Thing is, he's an IT guy. And the person trying to help him seems to really know their computer stuff. Therefore the following conversation they have makes no sense whatsoever to me. Worse yet, despite all of this the problem doesn't seem to have been resolved yet either.

I think someone should make a magic fix everything button.

So. Saturday night, as I was pulling pallets, I noticed that there were a few faces among the overnight crew that I hadn't seen in a few months, indicating that the remodel team was back. The Feeling of Dread kinda began to tingle in my gut then, but the rest of the crew and I still hoped otherwise.

But sure enough- Sunday rolled through and with it Kathy herself. (shudders) Her voice makes me want to claw out my eardrums. And right away she got on the task of informing whoever was listening about every single thing of (suposed) interest that had happened with her in her absence.

It was a no-truck day, though, so that means that she could only talk to those who Jennifer assigned her to work with on a project. Poor Paul. He's about the only one who can stand to attempt a civil conversation with her, so he was doomed on that front.

While they cleaned up the backroom, I took Patrick and Donald to do pop and water. We checked to see what would go, then came back in to fill up the cart. Filled up the cart, took it out and worked it (takes about ten minutes), then brought it back. Did the same thing over, and when they came back, we were greeted with the same whining as before.

Pi: (SIGH) Still talking.
Donald: ...Holy shit, she is! O_O She hasn't stopped talking once, has she?

Donald, I have decided by the way, is clearly Jesse's replacement (as opposed to Michael). He is amusing on that level, and he bursts out randomly into song just like he used to. Funny guys are awesome.

So the rest of us all went to do paper goods and chemicals and I caught him talking to Jen.

Donald: You know... when you guys told me about her, I didn't think she could possibly be that bad. But she never stops talking!
Jen: Oh this is nothing. She hasn't even started bitching at us yet.
Donald: ...It's going to get worse?
Jen: Yeah, pretty much.
Donald: (quite literally curled up on the floor to suck his thumb) Sweet Jesus...

Anyways. We thankfully didn't have to deal with her for the rest of the day. While I was stocking water, one of the managers came up to me and started talking about how he needed someone to help in Deli later. Before he could choose between Patrick and me, I pointed out to him that Kathy was back. And that she used to work in the Deli (not a lie- she did).

This manager is one of the more awesome ones in that he likes me (most of the other managers just ignore me), so he totally went with this idea. And the world rejoiced.

But alas. Today we have a truck. Meaning everyone will have to deal with her. Which is horrible and awful. Billy's probably throwing the truck (thus won't have to deal with her nagging like the rest of us working the line), but if he weren't he'd probably be convicted of manslaughter tonight.

Thank God it's my Friday.

10 July 2009 @ 03:11 pm
There's a couple things I could do without when it comes to my job. Coming home in pain is one of them, though I'd gladly take not waking up with that pain doubled first. Gah, I'm so sore. Lately my feet have been acting up again- mainly whenever I go to move my toes. And seeing as that happens whenever you walk, it's slowing me down a little bit.

This morning though, I suppose I was asking for my fate. Yesterday we had a large truck and when Billy didn't get back as soon as us, I decided to do his job for a little while so we didn't get behind. But then he got back and teased me about it so I went 'screw this, I'm throwing the damn truck'.

It was actually a lot more fun than I thought it'd be. Sure, it's an oven- metal trucks in the beating sun typically are. But the sweat cools you down a little too. Really my only problems were when I'd start a new wall. The boxes are most typically stacked to the roof of the truck and I'm a short person. When they were larger boxes, I could move one underneath the other and kinda get them down that way, but when they were smaller boxes I had to climb up onto pallets just to reach them.

Billy said I actually did a really good job throwing. I didn't quite believe him at first, seeing as it took nearly an hour longer to finish the truck even after he switched out with me (I got to throw for a good hour and a half, so it was no big), but he said that was just because it was 2200 pieces and we had three people on the line. Which I guess is a good point.

Anyways, afterwards we (Jennifer, Billy, and I) all decided to go eat at McDonald's. Our order took a few minutes longer than it should have (they were having a little contest of revenge which I won't go into XD), but when we finally pulled up to the window Billy said it was all because the ladies couldn't make up their minds.

We shall add a little note here. I am the Queen of 'the usual'. I go to Moxie Java every Wednesday and order the same thing. I go to Subway every Saturday and order the same sandwich with the same chips with the same drink. And on Mondays I go to McDonald's and order the same meal with the same drink without fail. Most employees know what I'm getting as soon as they see me.

Well, the boy at the window happens to be the one I see on my Mondays. He knows all of us because he's also usually there when we go through the drive-thru together. So when Billy said that, he just laughed and pointed out that mine should have been the easiest to remember.

Boy: Ten piece nuggets, fries, and a Sprite... right?
Pi: Yup!
Boy: Oh, and you usually get ranch dressing. I think they forgot to ask if you wanted any sauce- would you like ranch dressing?
Pi: (is trying to get the straw out of its paper and thus wasn't looking) Yes, please. (goes back to fiddling obliviously while he disappears to get said ranch)

While he was gone, I was very quickly informed that he had blushed very deeply when he'd asked me that. Which resulted in somre remarks about how cute that was from Jen and Billy being a butt and telling me he'd get his phone number for me when I wasn't totally opposed to the idea that someone non-creepy could like me. Brat.

But I quickly put an end to that by pointing out that this boy is like sixteen. ...It would figure.

Well anyways. Let's do Youtube Friday!

This is actually a game trailer for the upcoming Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. Now usually, I hate video games. They have a tendency to piss me off and thus I'm usually more frustarted after playing them then I was when I started. And I hate all controllers that go beyond your basic arrow keys and attack buttons. Therefore, I just tend to be avoid them alltogether unless I score a freebie on the PC or something (like with the TMNT game).

But this one... this actually looks really interesting to me. Marvel characters rock for starters, but then this one's also based off the Civil War plotline from the comics. And it just... looks really freaking sweet. :D

So I give. WANT.

I love my shows/comics. How many times have I mentioned this before? Whenever I'm down, there's always one to pick me back up. If there isn't one, well then I just find another one. And then I spend the rest of my regular days hopping around from fanfom lily pad to fandom lily pad.

I usually remain obsessed with one at a time though. Oddly enough, I'm with two at the moment (One Piece and Deadpool) and can't seem to decide which one to focus creative energies on.

Today though it seemed that I would pick One Piece. I've been watching this [info]op_fanforall2 meme for some time now (even back before it was a separate community without that little '2' on the end) and asked for some fic a few months back. Some very strange requests have come through there... enough to give me nose bleeds. But some of the best fic I've seen has also been written there, so it's worth keeping up with. My prompt was answered recently, making me very happy, and I went back to trying to write a response myself.

But that isn't working out so well... if my writing were to take a physical form, I would be forced to admit that I've really let myself go. Which is saying something, because even at the peak of my fanficcing I still had stuff to improve on. Problem is, this current self is more aware of this and has spoiled itself with loads of goodfic and thus has problems writing more than a paragraph or two.

Ah, I remember the days when I could write thousands of words in some hours and at least be somewhat satisfied. These days are no more.

Then again, I am trying my hand with new fandoms. Considering I'm so used to TMNT, I suppose this counts for something. I know those characters like the back of my hand, whereas I still have a considerable amount to learn on One Piece characterization, I think. And for some reason it's the little things that are getting me, such as speech and mannerisms, etc. And I just can't write without knowing these things.

...Okay, so I can write, but I can't allow myself to get very far, dammit. My brain recognizes it as unacceptable and won't allow me to proceed further. It's evil like that.

I think there needs to be a tutorial for writing fic in every fandom. You know, with general guidelines for plot and characterization, etc. Would come in a lot of handy right about now.

(continues to toy around)

Anyways, for normal life related things- just about done with my driver's ed classes. Tomorrow is the final and today was my last drive. After this I just need to practice for a bit and then I can go for my license. :D

Tomorrow is D-day for the kitty and I think she knows it somehow. She scratched a lovely bunch of wood out of my bedroom door. You'd think this would make it easier for me to accept she has to go (no more broken things, etc.), but I still feel horrible every time I look at her.

And finally the work scene. I had an interesting day yesterday. In a good way. No truck for once (and why yes, the heavens did open up and the angels did sing), so it was rather relaxing. At lunch I talked to mom on the phone and one of the subjects that came up was the driving thing I mentioned. I've been wondering just who I'm going to practice driving with. Grandma, obviously, but I would really like to get some practice driving at night and I can't do that with her.

Mom said I should ask a friend and when I drew a blank, she seemed sure by this point that I would've made at least a few by now.

Aaaand I was still drawing blanks. There's people I talk to frequently, sure, but are they my friends? I've had this problem before- I just don't know how to tell. It's very confusing. Keep in mind that I'm a social retard, people. This is stuff that I should've learned in kindergarten, after all.

Anyways, I kept wondering about it for a while. While I've always been unsure on the whole subject, I've always had a lead candidate for the role. Later that day, when we were moving stuff around in the frozen cooler, I found myself asking him if we were. In abit more words than I'll state here, he told me yes.

This... is a very nice feeling.

My feet (and pretty much every other part of my body to some extent) and my job don't get along so well. We've been having a slew of large trucks lately with few people to unload them and it's been taking it's toll. I'd request some time off, but that just puts the rest of my co-workers into the same nasty position as we've been in lately. >.<

ICS is down to six people total at the moment. As mentioned before, Jesse has moved (still saddened by this ;_;), and I learned today that they let Michael go for his poor attendance. Kathy's been gone on remodel, but that one hasn't really affected us much as the rollers are of more contribution than she is. XD

She's supoosed to be coming back next month, but we're hearing rumors that she won't be ICS. Pretty much all of us are hoping they'll prove true.

Though that does leave us with a lot of spots to fill. While Kathy was useless, Jesse and Michael were great workers. Management has replaced one of them already with this really awesome guy who's helped us before named Donald, and he starts at the end of the month. We still need people though- at least one more, anyways.

Subject change ahoy! Read the newest Naruto chapter.

Oh hai there plot )

And now it's Youtube Friday. And look what I found! Episode nine of Avatar Abridged is here!

First I bring bad news, dear flist. I returned to work yesterday to find out that after some issues with his family (whom he was staying with), Jesse finally had enough and has moved out of state. All within the few days I was off. ;_; I is deeply saddened.

In other news, another comic book came in today- the Deadpool arc of the Wolverine Origins series. I had the other five for a while now, but as I didn't have the first I couldn't really read them. The guy who did this one actually ended up taking over for the new Deadpool series, so I'm curious to see what I'm getting into. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about the writer (Daniel Way), so I'm not going to get my hopes up.

Anyways! When I got my comic, I was very surprised to see something else in the box I hadn't ordered. 'Tis a very nice copy of Spiderman #358, which seems to have a lot of other characters in it, including Punisher. I made sure it wasn't a mistake and all that I got it, but that's pretty sweet! I love free comic books. ^_^

Now on to the vid. This one isn't really from Youtube, but seeing as this just came out a few days ago, I had to share. The Nostalgia Critic teamed up with The Angry Video Game Nerd for a review, and until it was released nobody knew what they'd be reviewing. Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be TMNT: The Making of Coming Out of Their Shells.

Yeah. This was SO something that needed to get burned. I was quite literally frozen in terror upon seeing some of this stuff. Makes me very grateful that previously I'd been smart enough to avoid everything else having to do with this before hand. My brain would have scars from me trying to pick the images out with my fingernails.

Fair warning: be prepared for swearing. XD

06 June 2009 @ 02:56 pm

Yesterday before work, I spent my time reading comics. When it came to be time to walk to work, I hadn't finished the last one and debated taking it along on my walk to read. I couldn't get a hold of my grandma for a ride either, but I decided not to take it in case someting happened.

Not long after I started walking, the thunder and lightning showed up. Five minutes in and it was raining some. And then it started pouring, and that's not an exaggeration. On top of that, next came hail the size of teeth. There wasn't a single spot on my body that was dry, and I didn't even have a jacket.

To make matters worse, the mixture was falling so fast that it couldn't all drain down the gutters fast enough. The water started flooding into the streets and by the time I got to the third intersection one has to cross walking to Wal-Mart, it was up over the sidewalks, leaving me nowhere dry to put my already water-logged sneakers.

About the time my work shirt took on so much water that it was hanging down past my knees with the weight of it, I was seriously debating turning around and just calling in for work. Luckily for me, Billy had just gotten off his other job and was driving by and saw me. He pulled into a deep driveway and I started walking around the puddle to get to his car.

Naturally it was at this moment that some jackass in a Hummer drove through the puddle and sent a tidal wave over me.

Pi: (opens door muttering curses)
Billy: (trying not to laugh) Are you okay?
Pi: (trying to wipe water out of eyes) Are you sure you want me in your car?
Billy: (still trying not to laugh) Get in.

After a moment, he pointed out the obvious in how difficult it would be for me to work in clothes that held enough water to swim in and offered to take me home so I could change into a new set. When we got back to my house, he had to drive all the way over to the front step because the entire driveway was filled. O_o;

I went downstairs to get some clothes out of the dryer, very thankful I'd done the laundry just moments before, so it was still all nice and warm. Changing actually proved to be quite difficult, however, as I had to literally peel it all off of my skin. It took over a minute to get my jeans off. Then I had to towel the rest of the moisture off before getting into the dry clothes. Alas, the only thing I couldn't change were my shoes.

After I was dressed, we headed to work. Was kinda fun watching the people in small cars drive through some of the more flooded streets. And the idiots who drove through puddles near the residential areas, sending tidal waves up and over people's fences.

As I walked through the back doors to clock in, I passed by my other co-workers. Despite the dry clothes, I was still wet (hair and a few other things were tell-tale signs).

Pi: >.<
Paul: It's a wet kitty cat!

Unloading the truck was fun. At one point I had to take my shoes off and walk around barefoot. XD

And now I is downloading Deadpool comics (thanks[info]karehasu!) and reading the new One Piece chapter. Trying not to spoil here, so I'll sum this up shortly, though probably only three people on my flist could be spoiled.

AHHHH NO DYING AND MR.3 FTW.

First off, Jesse is like the most awesome co-worker ever. I don't think I say this often enough. But he's funny as hell, plays the Insult Game with me, buys me Mike's Hard Lemonade, sings badly while throwing the truck, and if you poke his belly button he'll laugh like the Pillsbury Dough Boy. XD

Anyways. Time for more on Deadpool. :D

Yes, I hear the mass groanings. Do I rave this much about my new fandoms usually? I don't think so. Most of my lve was already established for TMNT and Avatar, and I think the only other one that came quite as close in print was One Piece (which I still heart, by the way).

But seeing as his fanbase is so small, I must go out and get as many people interested in him as possible. So far, I think I've gotten like six people interested on and off the nets. Good start, but there is much more to be accomplished!
Also, I need icons. As soon as I get Photoshop transferred to my new laptop, I'm making some.

So here's Friday Youtube!

EDIT: Read the new Naruto chapter. WTF. I didn't want Kakashi to be dead and all, but what a lame ending. Reset button much?

Okay. So I don't think I've been very good on keeping this journal up to date on the people I work with. Which is surprising, considering I was so very happy with one change (still squeals about it). So here's a brief overview.

Kathy was sent to go on the remodel team to another town. Thus she shan't be seen for three wonderful months. We were all very happy. :D

Few weeks later, Michael left for some militairy training. However, he got medically discharged, which I hear is really depressed him. He should be back soon, but I'm not sure when.

Then yesterday I came to work to find out that Aaron injured himself somehow last night and now he has to go be a people greeter for a week. We've also heard rumor that he won't be able to come back to the ICS at all, but I'm still waiting for that to clear up.

Nevertheless, it really screwed up our team. We had four people last night, didn't get to any picks, and Jen and I had to deal with claimsing four buckets of paint. Took us an hour, which we now have to kill tonight.

That works out pretty badly for Patrick and Paul, who are the only other ones working with us tonight. Four people again, seeing as Billy has this week off since he had to go out of state to get his car back. UGH. The only day this week where we're actually going to have more than four people is on Monday. I'm going to be so very sore. I so need a raise.

All righty. So onto that stuff I said I'd do! First thing up is that little fic of mine. Like I said, it won this week over at [info]avatar_contestmuch to my surprise. I'll let you guys be the judges.

Title: Foot Notes

Characters: Toph, Katara

Rating: PG

Warnings: Post-Series, but not in a spoilerish way.

Word Count: 239

Summary: There's not many reasons Toph would blind herself by wearing shoes.

This stinks--I can't even see three feet in front of me. )

And now to pimp some fic that isn't mine.

Muah, I love crossovers. Well-done crossovers, mind you. Any author who can successfully blend two (or more!) universes together convincingly is brilliant in my book.

So I pretty much jumped at the chance when [info]ivy_chanhad a meme in which she'd drabble fic two characters from different series.

I'm, uh, a very selfish requester indeed, Heheh- five requests from me. But I gots them! And they all turned out very, very beautifully. Which is to be expected. As this is Ivy.

Anyways! So just in case no one else saw them, I'm pimping them out to this small crowd here.

First up is a TMNT/Justice League one, in which Mikey meets The Flash. Then we have a most gorgeous TMNT/Avatar one with Leo and Zuko. Third is Naruto/Avatar with Sakura and Katara. Fourth is a TMNT/Naruto one, with Shikamaru and Splinter and it is most awesome. And finally another Naruto/Avatar drabble, this time featuring Hinata and Toph.

GO READ. Awesomeness demands it. :D

Oh yes. And now it is Youtube Friday!

So I went on Youtube the other day, as usual, when something in the Video Suggestions caught my eye. You see- I've never bothered looking for a Deadpool AMV. He's never been in a cartoon/movie long enough to make an AMV out of, so I never thought I'd find anything. Naturally, I was sure there'd be some pic ones, but ones like that that include attention to detail vs. random image are hard to find.

This one had my attention though. Comic image. Now I have seen some really neat AMV's done using comic images, so I clicked the little linky and watched the vid. And I enjoyed it very much. :3

If anyone chooses to watch this, this comic is almost like his origin. Weapon X did their stuff, considered him a failed experiment, and after a string of events he ended up where you see him here. "King of the Deadpool", after all the near-death experiences he goes through he begins to see Death and falls in love with her (kid you not) and the two plot for him to die so they can be together.

Pfft
As you recall, I left for work early yesterday.

Hrm. Okay, wait. Get to that in a moment. Quick side story- On my way there, as I was feeling tremendously hungry, I stopped at the Moxie Java/TCBY for something to eat. I saw something called a Thriller Chiller and decided that looked good. I was very surprised when after the chocolate ice cream and Butterfingers I was asked if I wanted mocha or cappuchino in it. Ick- I no likey coffee. However, I wasn't about to waste it, so I went with mocha.

They put whipped cream and cinnamon on it and gave me a straw and a spoon. I think I died. It was soooo good. You could just barely taste the coffee in it. I'm already craving another one and think I'll stop by to get it later. :3

Anyways. Back to the important work stuff. >.>

So yeah. Got there about an hour early and first stopped by the Photo Center to talk to the department manager there. The lady who's leaving photo said she'd left a note for her saying I'd be coming in.

The third lady who works in photo was up there when I arrived and I asked her if she could tell me where the department manager was.

Photo Lady: Oh, she won't be back until Monday.
Pi: ... >.< Okay. I'll come back then.

So then I proceeded to look for the Assistant Manager who governs over the front end/electronics departments. She's the one who ultimately handles this stuff and such, and I knew she'd be there that day. It didn't take long to find her, and when she wasn't busy I asked her about the position.

Assistant Manager: I'm not hiring anyone for photo right now.
Pi: What about the associate that's leaving for the vision center? She told me you'd be looking for someone.
Assistant Manager: She was only part time, so I don't think I'll replace her.
Pi: ... (waits until she's out of sight) (facepalms)

All of that happened in about fifteen minutes, leaving me to wander the store until my shift started. I was rather peeved about that.
...But that Thriller Chiller totally made up for it. (loves on it)
So yeah. Won't be leaving the ICS anytime soon. And as there's still only one person there who pisses me off, I'll take that as a good thing.

Speaking of that person. Kathy was rather the bitch yesterday, as she tends to be when I'm asked to scan (Jen's back- yay!). She disappeared at one point to go to Pets to get some fish out for customers, but was gone for forty-five minutes to do it. I'm not even that slow. Translation: She was ranting to people after that.

We finished the truck before our first break, which is awesome. It was only a 1400 piece truck, but still- was sweet. Then we all went to break, at which point cupcakes were waiting for us. I don't like cupcakes, but everyone who ate them said they were really good. They had a lot of frosting on them, so watching Jesse eat was hilarious. Worried that he'd get chocolate on his face, he proceeded to eat his first cupcake in one bite.

Everyone: O_O
Pi: You still got choclate on your face.
Jesse: I know. Was a good cupcake though.
Jen: Might be better if, you know, you chew it.
Jesse: Oh shush!

He said he was only going to eat two, but he ate four. It was so funny to watch. He ate the rest normally, but he'd be like 'all right, one more can't hurt'. XD I love the guy. He's awesome.

After the fourth, he moved the box of cupcakes to another table after Aaron took one so he wouldn't be tempted anymore.

Aaron: (eating) Will you quit staring at my cupcake?! S'creepy.
Pi: (checks) OMG- you were staring at his cupcake!
Jesse: Ahh! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to!
Pi: XD Now I'm imagining it talking to you.
Jesse: (goes along with joke) Help me! Help me, Jesse! The hillbilly's eating me too slowly!
Aaron: That's it. I'm gonna eat this thing in slow motion now, just to piss you off.
Jesse: You guys are so mean! I'm never eating another cupcake again!
Pi: (has retrieved box of cupcakes and holds them out)

XD

Moving right along- read both the new Naruto and One Piece chapters.

Cut for slightly spoilerishness, I suppose )

So it has come to my attention that people are putting up Youtube vids on Fridays. Okay, I'll bite. :D

Once again, I am left with no choice but to combine a whole bunch of stuff into one post. Because I seem to be too lazy to write up stuff as it happens these days.

So firstly, the fanfic comp is now over and finished rather smoothly. In the end we only had three ties, and none were for first place. Not bad at all. Everyone also seemed really pleased with how quickly the results were posted, so yay there as well. I was also pretty pleased with the results- a lot of my favorites won without me even having to vote for them. ^_^

Putting the hosting duties to the side, I myself was also on the ballot and was surprised to find myself watching the votes come in for me. 'Twas for the same story in two different categories- I got second place for Best Short Work and first for Best Villain.

That's... surprisingly good. The stories I was up against in both categories were like, really, really good. I went and reread mine to compare. I honestly can't see how they placed as high as they did. I mean, I don't think I sucked, but in comparison I find several fics to have been more deserving.

Seesaw was written on the spur of the moment, in the attempt to just write something and have it up in time for a goodfic flood. I like it, but I don't think it's anything special.

Not that I'm ungrateful! Because it's seriously nice to see people thought highly enough of it to vote for it. It just baffles me, I guess.

Nevertheless, yay! I wrote barely nothing and I still get recognized. I has not been forgotten. :3

Next matter of business- I watched Bolt online a couple of hours ago. OMG- I liked that movie a lot more than I thought I would. It had it's moments of total cuteness, but it also had some really developed characters. I loved all three of the animals (Bolt is the dog, obviously, and then there's Mittens the cat and Rhino the hamster). They just had so much personality. Oh, and the pigeons. Freaking hilarious. The Nemo jab was awesome. XD Really- it was totally great to watch. I may even buy it.

And because I can't talk about movies without at least one quote...

Bolt: There's a guard.
Rhino: I'll snap his neck.

And finally for something a little more serious.

On friendship and religion and I'm still confused )

Long rambling entry once again. Probably made no sense, but at least it's an entry.

Muah. Here's all of the little things that have slipped any previous posts by my own forgetfulness. I shall try and keep them short, for fear of having an entry that can be wrapped around the middle of the world.

-

Thoughts on new co-workers:

I've known Patrick since starting at Wal*Mart. Uber nice guy- he was a cashier before this. Working with him more now is kinda weird though... but in a good way. Sorta. It's actually really hard to describe. In short, I've never met someone as sincerely happy as he is. The guy's never down, even when he says he's bummed about something. The glass isn't just full with him, it's like full of liquid sunshine and rainbows. Someone asked him yesterday where he gets all of his energy from and I kid you not, his answer was 'happiness'.

...Poor guy gets thrown into the ICS. The rest of us don't 'do' happy. XD

Anyways, worked with Jesse a few times before. He was also a cashier. Working with him for the past few weeks has given me enormous respect for him. He's everything I've wanted back there since forever. He's very pleasant to work with, and very attentive. In the first few days, whenever he was attempting something, he'd ask if it was right, or if I had any suggestions- all kinds of stuff. He's great at stacking and is already starting to get into the groove of how we behave around one another. Example from yesterday yet again, when Billy was getting some pallets down for everyone when we were doing picks:

Billy: Which pallet do you need, little girl?
Jesse: 24B- B as in 'bigmouth'.

-

Last Wednesday I woke up to my cell ringing. I answered it and was informed by my grandma that I needed to be ready for her to pick me up in an hour as she'd signed me up for driver's training.

Yeah. I wtf'ed.

Anyways, went down to the DMV. Lady there is a bitch. I have to take the test for my permit again on Tuesday, and apparently I need an ID that was issued to me in 2004 to get it. What the hell? I never needed that thing for my last permit. Secondly, it would look nothing like me anymore with five years passed. And lastly- no one knows where it is. Ugh. Hope she isn't there when tomorrow.

But yeah. After that affair I went down to the high school and had to sit in a room with thirty other high school brats. Oy, it was painful. Good reminder for why I ended up home schooling myself. But I do appear to be getting special treatment. Schedules were handed out later in the day showing when classes are (my days off, out of luck) and when the driving groups will be driving. These groups don't tend to be on a Tuesday or Wednesday, and are actually split up all over the place. I went to talk to her later to point out that thosedays with those times wouldn't work for me no matter which driving group I was in, and found out she was making an exception for me due to work. I just get to drive with whoever. XD

One thing I'm not very pleased with though is the bill. Not nice to learn that I have to fork up $145 an hour after waking.

-

Am going to visit mom Tuesday after driver's ed. Will be staying up there until Thursday, when my stepdad will bring me home before work. He's also picking me up. Translation: I have between when I get off work until then to get the house looking decent. (FEAR)

-

Operation: Birthday was a partial success. The people who threatened me with songs and the like were mostly avoided. Found out later that Billy had convinced them that the best way to grant my 'birthday wish' would be to not do the birthday things. Was rather grateful.

Later however, my birthday was again announced- this time at the overnight meeting (which we missed due to the arrival of a frozen truck). Later, when I was taking out other pallets on the grocery side, someone noticed me and said happy birthday. This alerted everyone else there that I was in the vicinity, upon which they all came out one by one to say it as well. XD

Later:

Pi: (embarassed) Thank you.
Aaron: Waitasec. How come you don't get mad at them when they say it, but you bite our heads off?
Pi: Because you know better.
Billy: Oh what the hell.

-

Same day Billy said something interesting to me.

Billy: You know it's not a big deal if someone wants to do something for your birthday. It's actually kind of a nice thing. It makes you feel appreciated by your friends.

I've spent the last several years under the impression that I have no friends (in real life). Well, one friend... but she's still away in the Dominican Republic. It's gotten to the point where I really can't remember just how people become friends. Is it really that simple? I still find it all confusing.

-

Jen is back from vacation. She is a million shades of awesome. Twice in a row now, I have been chosen to sort break packs andscan electronics over Kathy. Pure win.

Best thing is that Kathy's throwing a fit over it. That's supposedly 'her thing', and she was never happy when I was even asked to help her at times after she learned I do it too. She's been really nasty lately, but I could care less. MUAH. I win.

-

Twice now, happy news completely unrelated to me has made me have brief moments of emo. I don't think this says anything nice about my character.

-

I've started playing Bishop over at TT officially.  It's oresome. XD

Such a very, very long day at work. I don't even want to talk about it. Nothing outrageously horrible... just setback after setback and a lot of work. I'm exhausted.

Good news though- my cashier friend Patrick is starting with us tomorrow. Yayness! ^_^

Anyways, must make a note to myself to pay the bills, the rent, and get groceries soon. Running behind. That and get back to work on the Fanfic Competition details. Oh, and Association Meme stuff.

But really, I should just get to the point of this post. It's an odd one, and almost a waste of space. But seriously. WTF moment. O_O

Seriously... [info]ivy_chan, I have the upmost respect for you for taking on the TMNT fandom's most frightening badfics. No one can do it like you can. So I almost wonder what would have happened if you had found this fic. I don't know if there's enough office supplies.

I found this video while going through the Nostalgia Critic's website. Heheh... been overdosing for the past few weeks now, and have moved on to some of the other videos. And it was here I found The Masterpiece Fanfic Theatre. It's a new one, but nevertheless very interesting. These fanfics, and only two have been covered thus far, make me wonder just where the hell this guy is finding them.

Thus I present you the link to the second episode, which covers a crossover. A crossover between Dragon Ball Z... and The Diary of Anne Frank.

...

I can't describe the look on my face. It's something akin to horror, shock, and amusement all rolled up into an attempt at a facial expression.

Note to feet: Owowowowowowow OW. Stop hurting, please. Once I get my tax money, I promise I'll get some nicer shoes. If you can bare with me until that time arrives, we'll both benefit, m'kay?

Besides that, work's been okay. Okay as it can usually get, anyways. Kathy's being an irritating bitch, but that's not too out of the ordinary at least. Don't know about anyone else, but I was seriously peeved with her today.

When management says "Don't do the break packs until after the truck is done", I think it should be fairly obvious that they're saying as much because they think the person doing them will be of more use working on the line. Therefore, they're useful if they're, you know, actually on the line. Maybe I was just the only person noticing that Kathy wasn't doing anything but scanning. But seriously- if that's as useful as she's going to get, she might as well just work on the damn things so we don't have to hear her complain about it later.

Another little quick note- I got a bit of a confidence boost earlier when we got there when both Billy and Paul had intentions of having me on break packs/scanning. Billy said I'm faster at it, while Kathy just takes her time. She threw a bit of a fit though when she was told to work food instead, so she got her way. Again I wonder how the hell she can actually be over fifty...

Anyways, Jennifer also started today. I forgot how much fun it is working with her. Also, she's a little closer to my age... I'd say very early twenties, but I can't be sure. She looks/acts it, at least, though in a slightly more mature way. Super nice, though, so that's a plus. :D

Heheh.... one more work thing I have to share. Because it cracked me up for a good ten minutes or so. As we finish up the truck, we usually go between pallets and find the little boxes that we couldn't reach earlier. Billy was doing this, as usual, on the side of one of the pallets pushed up against the wall. He'd climbed on top of the one in front of it and leaned over to reach into the gap there.

Well... he basically fell in and couldn't get out.

...Naturally, we all laughed at him. XD

Seriously. We go back there and all you can see are his legs kicking around trying to find purchase on the pallet he fell off of and get back. I'm trying to remember the events as well as I can, because it was seriously funny. (Note: 'Ohmygod' and 'are you shitting me?' are two of Billy's many catchphrases. He also typically wears a baseball cap backwards when we're in the backroom)

Biily: Ahh! Help! I'm stuck!
Kathy: You said 'you got it'!
Billy: Well I thought I did! Now I think I'm in deeper! (legs flail about)
Eveyone: (comes into truck) (start laughing as we realize what's going on)
Billy: It's not funny! This fucking hurts! My elbow's all jammed up against the wall, and if I fall down any further I think I'm gonna break my iPod! Paul! Come help me!
Paul: Ha! (walks out of the truck)
Billy: Are you shittin' me?!
Everyone: (continues to laugh)
Billy: Ohmygod, you guys are mean!
Jen: Gimme a second! (controls self and moves over to help) (tries) Ah! You're too heavy!
Billy: I am not! I've lost ten pounds working here!
Jen: (puts him down a little while I come over to help)
Billy: AHH! Don't do that! You'll crush my iPod!
Jen: Oh, cry me a river!
Pi: (is still laughing when she arrives to help)
Billy: (after a few minutes is pulled out of hole) Ohmygd, my hat fell off! (dives back in)
Pi: Oh what the hell!
Jen: We are not fishing you back out if you fall in again!
Billy: ... (considers) Hold my feet! (reaches down) (we do so) Yes! Got it! Hat- check. iPod- not broken. We're good!

And of course, we were still laughing at him later. XD

Oh, and no worries. He was good with it. I mean, he was laughing himself, so he wasn't like mad that we were. ^_^

Anyways. Noticing some other really odd switches my brain's pulled on me. Like wanting to get to bed two hours earlier than what's become my usual, or spending less time online. All of a sudden too. Good things, of course, but very strange in how suddenly they occurred.

That said, I'm tired now. (collapses)

I'm starting to wonder if this journal is like a means of communication between me and the has-a-mind-of-its-own life. Because, albeit very slowly, things started to improve from my last entry.

Work wasn't as hard on Sunday (it still stunk, just not as bad). Monday brought no truck and was surprisingly... nice. Billy was back and while Paul stocked paper goods and Kathy was off doing everything but helping me, he and I worked together for most of the day.

Cut for ramblings on Billy )

But yeah. Change of subject ahoy!

Know those things that get advertised to hell and everyone's always fawning over that you just kind of pass off? And then when you try it, it's like '....OMFG LUV'?

I think TurboTax is one of those things. *_*

No seriously guys. It was awesome. I spent like three hours trying to figure out my taxes when I clicked on their website. Turned out I was qualified to get them done for free. It was super easy, and very helpful. It pointed out all of the things I needed to do and offered explanations for anything I had questions about. It even had this little box in the corner showing everything I was going to get back.

It blew. My. Mind.

Federal Refund? $699.

State Refund? $252.

(jaw DROPS)

...That's like two freaking paychecks. That's like two and a half months of rent. A new pair of work shoes and some comfy clothes. Creativity with groceries!

Of course, this is provided the government accepts my return. Am really hoping they won't deny it. I should find out in a day or two. (is hopeful)

Oh... so much shit going on at the moment. Funny, I don't recall leaving on the fan.

Would go into more detail, but alas I lack the time. I'll sum it up real quick though.

My netz are being a total pain in the ass at the moment. I couldn't get online at all before work, and when I got home they were moving so slow that I still really didn't get to so much. I saw posts on my flist and stuff at SS. Wasn't able to view anything on TT (checks) and I still can't. Couldn't post at all to LJ last night because the page wouldn't load, and it took me three hours to view my new emails (which was all spam, naturally).

I am not a happy camper.

However, I'm not so foolish as to think it's rebelling on me itself. The weather is to blame, of course. We got six inches of snow before I went to work yesterday, and I just got a call from my stepdad telling me that the news reported we got another nine last night.

Hey guys. Can you guess who has to walk to work in less than an hour?

Is work even worth it tonight? Dear God, I've hated it the past couple of days. Management has informed us that we're overstaffed when we keep asking when we'll get more people. Question: How can we be overstaffed when they constantly have to send us help on Sundays and Mondays? (bangs head against wall)

In addition to Sue being sent to shoes, Glenn is trying to quit. Can't blame the guy... I mean, he already is working forty hours at his other job. He doesn't even have a day off. But management hasn't accepted his resignation yet- they want to work something out with him so that he can still get what he wants while working here. Glenn's told me that if it'll work, he might stay. Hope so. Will get more into this later- I'm totally bummed.

My feet hurt like hell. And now I gotta get ready to torture them again.

Where's this bright side of things I keep hearing about? I don't think it exists. Just because I have a pessimistic outlook on life doesn't mean I don't tend to look for it often.

Because I can never state it enough: Holy freaking crap, I am so out of the loop on everything these days. O_o

I swear to God, if it were not for my flist, and sometimes my co-workers, I would have no clue what's going on in the world anymore. Though I guess that isn't so bad... considering I used to rely on Jay Leno for all of my news needs. Though if I remember correctly, he should have retired this year. Therefore were I able to get local stations in my apartment, I suppose I'd be relying on Conan O'Brien now instead.

Well that was a tangent. ^_^;

But yeah, so Obama is president now, huh? Good thing to have in your bag of trivia answers should anyone ask you anything relating to this moment in history. :D

...Dear God, the Aussies knew before me. (headdesk) I fail at life. XD

Though seriously, I kinda do. I'm starting to get really bored and lonely now and can't think of anything whatsoever to do. I mean, not my usual for when I'm bored- stuff like surfing the net or drawing, etc. I do those all the time, and it's just kinda reinforcing it all. I want to do something fun, and something new, but I have absolutely no idea of what exactly to do.

It's all so very confusing to me. I don't have very many friends to so stuff with, and it's pretty hard for me to make new ones. So it'd kinda have to be something I could do on my own. Only... what is there to do on your own? This is a pretty small town. All I can think of is walking to the little movie theatre, or maybe sitting in the park (which would quickly bore me, sadly), or perhaps going to Wal*Mart. And as I work there, that wouldn't be very much fun at all.

Gah! What do adults do for fun? I have no idea! ;_;

(sigh) Going back to the subject of work, it's been kinda stressing these past few days. Our store is officially on the new backroom program that all of the other stores are doing. It basically makes everything easier for everyone... with the exception of us, of course.

The bins are kinda fun. Sometimes complicated, but pretty simple. Basically, it works so that using a little handheld computer thingy, we can find any item in the backroom. It also is supposed to tell us which items need to go out. Not all of the bugs are fixed in that part yet, as it's going off of som much incorrect data from the old program. But when it's all sorted out it'll be nice.

So yeah- to the issue for us in ICS. One of the things this new backroom program calls for is to have the consumable items we get a lot of be placed on a flatbed cart instead of on a pallet. This is supposed to help the stockers work them faster. The departments this rule applies to are for HBA (which consists of three departments: hygeine, cosmetics, and pharmacy) and Grocery items.

Our problem is this- pallets hold a lot more stuff than a flatbed cart. We also have a great deal more of them than we do the carts. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that they now also want a separate cart for each aisle of grocery, or that besides that truck, we have to deal with the food that comes off the GM truck as well. Seriously guys, that's a lot of carts.

Also look at it this way: It usually takes us to about eight to finish unloading the GM truck. If we get done early, we can start downstacking the grocery pallets onto the carts, but the earliest we get done is seven, so that's only an hour of work. When we get back from lunch, the pallets have to go out to the floor, but the grocery carts also need to be out there before the stockers show up. It takes a long time to do that, and if only half of us can do so while the other half pulls, progress is even slower.

Not to mention that the stockers all use those flatbed carts to move their frieght so they can perform their jobs as well. But we pretty much use all of those carts up on grocery, so everyone who stocks GM is left without a cart until grocery is done, making their jobs harder. I don't really think that's fair, but it's not out fault either.

We just started it on Saturday and have yet to get everything done in time. I'm hoping all the kinks are worked out when I get back there on Thursday. Gah- so complicated.

More complications, by the way. I'm having several issues with some of my co-workers. Sunday night was the first where we had to do both a GM and Grocery truck, so before we went to lunch, it was decided that Billy and Paul would pull freight while Sue, Kathy, and I would downstack grocery.

...Only, somehow I ended being the only one doing this.

The breakpacks hadn't all been finished up when we left, so that's what Sue and Kathy worked on while I set to downstacking. I could sorta understand that, only they were taking so looooong. I was getting pretty irritated- some of these boxes are heavy, and the work would go by so much faster with help, you know?

But I didn't even get it after they finished! When they were done, Sue started to pull out some of the carts started while we were doing the GM truck, and I kinda pointed out that it'd be nice to have those still as some still had room on them and we're limited with the carts. She left me one, but it was almost like she was lecturing me over the thing. She had such an attitude that day, which was the main reason why I never voiced that I thought they should be helping (stupid of me, yes I know). In the mean time, Kathy went somewhere and did something for a while, before coming back and getting the electronics to lock up.

One of the managers showed up after that and after a moment asked with some confusion if I was the only one downstacking. When I told her I was, she pointed out that she'd though the others were supposed to help, as she'd witnessed Billy suggesting what we do before we went to lunch. I said I'd thought that too, but again made it clear that I was the only one doing this.

Things got busy after that, and I didn't see either one for awhile. I think they got in trouble for it though, as they were both giving me nasty looks later on... all of which I pretended not to notice. I'm good at the whole 'I is oblivious and don't know you're looking at me' act.

The next day we had no truck, so I downstacked with Billy and Kathy while Paul and Sue binned. That was another interesting experience. Sometimes, I just really don't like Kathy. Like at all. She's probably in her early fifties, but she can be such a bitch. She spreads rumors (btw- that whole thing with Billy? Rumor she started, I found out from management), is critical of everyone else, and is very much addictied to the drama. She can be fun sometimes, yes, but it doesn't really balance out.

Anyways, so she was nice some of the time while we were working, but then she'd do a complete switch on me (more often when Billy wasn't there). Often times, we all had to correct one another on which aisle one item would go in, and I've been right as many times as I've been wrong, same as her. So I had no idea what the hell was going on when she got so bitchy about me thinking the pancake mix was in the baking aisle instead of breakfast and made me go check. She was right, and I could care less so long as I knew where to put the damn box. But when I told her she was right, she got all snippy, with all these sarcastic comments about her being right as it was apparently so impossible.

I'm not at all used to having to act more mature than people even a little bit older than me. I was kinda getting sick of it all by that point, so I just said that I wasn't making a big deal about her. Kept her quiet for at least a little while, though she wouldn't let me help her on a carryout later, instead making me go drag Billy from his break to do it with her. >.<

Ugh. Why are people so irritating?

Anyways, to make a long story short, later that day we also found out that management is moving Sue out of ICS and to Shoes. I'm almost grateful, seeing how rudely she's been acting to me lately. But I really hope they're not moving her because of the whole situation on Sunday. I mean, I should have asked for help after all, so it's not entirely her fault.

...Couldn't they have just moved Kathy? >.<

For some odd reason, we always have fairly normal sized trucks on days when we have full crews. It's very odd, but it can be nice at times. I like being done pulling everything out of the backroom before ten thirty, anyways.

After doing a cart run (Huzzah- we got them all done before it started snowing!), we palletized candy and cleaned up and stuff. Michael and I finished with our candy before the others, so we decided to do something useful- we went and named a bunch of our pallet jacks, writing them down with his big markers (which I've been told smells like paint).

His favorite jack we named the Monster (it's loud, but it carries the heavier pallets better), and my favorite is the Ninja; it happens to be the quietest of the jacks, thus perfect for such stealth operations as taking a pallet out when you know the overnight stocker who has to work it isn't going to be happy to see you. If they're busy in an aisle- they won't see you, and they won't come out because they can't hear you! Thus the glory of the Ninja.

The other three good jacks we dubbed as the Pirate (good jack, but wobbles kinda like you're on a ship), Jedi (the force is strong with this one- moves well), and Badass. Not much of a reason for naming the last one that, besides us thinking it as a good name.

Then we named some of the worst pallet jacks. There's Thumper (has a messed up wheel, and clanks at the slightest movement), Zombie (takes forever to drop a pallet), Tattoo (people have written many comments on it), Wimp (doesn't carry pallets well), and Hannah Montana. ...Like Badass, we didn't have much other reason for calling it that besides the fact that we both find Hannah Montana annoying. XD

Anyways, right before we were getting ready to go, it started snowing. Big, huge flakes too! Was a pretty sight watching from the bay doors. Michael asked if I had a ride, and I told him I wasn't expecting one as I'd planned to get some groceries before I left and didn't want to make anyone wait. He didn't mind though, saying that he had nothing but time. He even went to grab the pet food for me to save time while I went to collect the door prize I won.

Which brings me to Day 3 in the Happiness Meme:

I guess this time of year, Wal*Mart has a party. They had like twenty-five different door prizes and everyone who works in the store is entered in a chance to win one. I happened to be one of these!

And I got a freaking sweet one, too. In value, there were only two better than it (the television and the Wii system with a bucnh of games), but I think I still like more. Think meaning the television would've been sweet too.

Anyways- my prize was an Acer laptop. So now I have two laptops! (does a happy dance) This is much coolness. Because my current one is kinda getting all funky on me now.

Only thing I don't like about this new one is that it's screen isn't as tall. I suppose I can get used to it though.

But yeah. Those were the good things. I am still fairly ticked off about the electric bill. Somehow, it seems to have doubled. I am not a happy camper about this. Forty something dollars I can tolerate, but eighty is an entirely different matter. Especially as I have no idea what I could've used that would take that much electricity. I don't think I messed with the heater at all (though I certainly am turning it down now), and I haven't bothered with leaving a light on anymore when I come home either. If this continues, I shall complain.

Grargh. Now I must get ready for work. Can't wait until next Thursday- I need another day off.
